Sportsman is standing its ground. Blade for some food prep, awl and file used to punch/smooth a hole in a leather notebook I finished last night.

Added ivan_partizan to the list, need some confirmation on the knife model, though.

Just got the Mag-Lite Solitaire. Man this thing is BEAST!!! All 2 lumens of it. I had to put my shades over the lens of the camera just to take a pic of it.
:p

I wonder if Mag-lite will update this one like are doing with the others. These new Mag Lites they are coming out with are bad ass and for a good price.

Day 3 over and done with. My wife asked to borrow my scissors in the garden and I had to disappoint her. Got mocked for doing the challenge. Then got a conciliatory kiss so Me for the win!

Day III

Only task was cutting some bread. Harder and larger than yesterdays bread, the blade didn't reach half way in. However, it still worked.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Not the real one, but very close. And the taste was great! Haven't had these in a while, really enjoyed it! With a stout beer to help it go down.

How's that for uber minimal? [Classic SD and Photon light].

That's about as good as it gets.  And for the average person who carries nothing, it would handle 99% of their daily needs.

Got a Solitaire last week in a flea market. Paid 2 Euros for it. Thought it was defective too... my Siglite and pocket laser blow it away... let alone a proper flashlight - still bought it.. gotta have a Maglite  ::)

There is a Solitaire LED... http://www.maglite.com/maglite_solitaire_led.asp
another option is the Led Lenser A2  http://www.ledlenser.com/uk/flashlights/a2/

Your Pic brings back memories...
Put white scales on the Compact, call it a Golfer (c1989) and that pairing was my EDC for many years in the '90s.
They were joined at the keyrings and rode in my pocket so long that the corkscrew wore grooves halfway through the case of the Solitaire and the split ring nearly wore through the hole in the "birdhead" spacer on the SAK.

I've done well so far, but really wanted to cheat today.  I needed scissors to cut a small zip tie on a wire loom, but since I'm carrying my Pioneer, I was missing my SAK scissors. :(  I really wanted to go and grab my Climber, but I resisted.  It took me FOREVER to find a bloody pair small enough to do the job too.

Day 3 was pretty uneventful.  Helped slice an apple at lunch again.

Helped cut packing tape to open a shipping container after we did drop tests on it.

I'm already missing my alox though...  The flex in the wengerinox's handles just feels so...cheap, really.  I'm wondering if I should have gone with an alox bantam.

The light has been no problem, though.  Really, the E01 always did everything I needed.  I just wanted newer toys!

I've had pretty good luck using the awl on my pioneer to cut zip ties.  I actually prefer that to scissors.  If the awl doesn't work, I usually go for some diagonal cutters.
