Simple pleasure- cheese
on: May 10, 2016, 03:57:09 PM
One of the benefits of my new place is that we ate right on the border of China Town and Little Italy, so there is an excellent variety of foods available to us, just a short walk from the house.  One little Italian store just on the corner had an excellent selection of cheeses, and I have always been a cheese junky.

Last week I picked up some medium old smoked cheddar that is simply to die for.   The next day I picked up some Asiago, and I'm sitting here right now having a few small chunks of each, and it is simply amazing.

Anyone else here a fan of good cheeses?

I hope you are using a Vic Cheese Knife...

Well, the fact that there is a Vic Cheese knife should tell you a lot about Switzerland and cheese, we love that stuff. Personally, I'm in favor of semi-hard to hard mountain cheeses, bathed in salt and mountain herbs and aged in a cave
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

....and they still haven't got to Chedder :D

Funny enough,we were talking about cheese at work today, with strong preferences for blue cheeses and Wensleydale with cranberries

And then there was that deep orange, almost red old Gouda.
And Pecorino, young and old.
Brie, with fresh bread and red currant.
Or that wonderful Irish cheddar.
And we need to talk about Scamorza.
And some Parmigiano, the real stuff, not the ground salty rubbish that you can buy ready grated. With wine.

Aaaaaah. Ok, I'll have to finish that Brie now.

Tomcat, and yes, cats like cheese, too.

Seriously?  You are posting a cheese related video and you choose Wallace and Gromit and yet no one has posted the classic cheese video?

No more Gouda. :( I'll have to get more tomorrow.  Another cheese fan is my mom's dog. April doesn't come charging into the kitchen if you open the vegetable drawer in the fridge, but damn if she isn't like lightning the second you have the drawer that has the cheese .001" open!

TOO MUCH CHEESE

He's alive... it was obviously not "too much" cheese.

And at least he didn't go hungry under there.
