Day 24

Back to the Vic Soldier to see how this feels after using my new Wenger SI the last few days. There's not a huge amount of difference, though the "snap" on the cap lifter/screwdriver is noticeably less on the Wenger, strange as it's about the same on all the other tools.

Hmmm... can't post a photo as Photobucket seems to be down!

Will try again later.

Day 24...

Slicing up some chicken breasts for my dinner, at work, tonight.

The Centurian sliced right thru, just like it sliced right thru my finger last Wednesday!  oops!!

Add them as attachments until Photobucket comes back up. The site was acting very strangely all day.

Day 24

Today I'll show of some of the stuff I bring work me when I carry a bag.
Pictured is:
  • The grey zippered bag that holds everything.
  • A Bic lighter.
  • 5 m of kavlar cord.
  • A plastic bag.
  • A pair of ear plugs.
  • A pick of tissues.
  • 3 zip-ties.
  • A tape measure.
  • A spare battery.
  • A cleaning cloth.
  • A small bandage thingy.

Inside is also that (not quite) Altoids tin with:
  • Razor blade.
  • Band-aid.
  • Wound cleaner.
  • Condom (why not).
  • Scissors  (from a SwissCard).
  • Hair pin.
  • Security pin.
  • MicroSD to SD converter.
  • Tampon (because how else are you going to carry as much cotton in as small a shape).
  • Pair of lenses (might come in handy since my sight is like a bat).
  • 3x400 mg Ibuprofen.
  • 2x500 mg Paracetamol.

I'm a student so it's a office type environment without your own desk. But this kit follows on travels (minus things like the razor blade that might be problematic) as well as outdoors and shopping (the tape measure is mainly there to make sure second hand goods are acutely the right size and my main use so far for the kevlar cord had been to secure things to my bike).

The kit is slowly evolving to fit my needs. I used to have one of those disposable rain ponchos in there but they aren't really that useful so I didn't replace it after last use. Another thing I changed recently was that I replaced a smaller tin so I could fit the lenses and that also allowed me to fit the scissors. I'm looking for some mirror tape or other kind of unbreakable mirror to attach to the inside of the tin to help with putting in the lenses.

24/30. This beast was served whole, while I ate mine that way I cut my wife's in half with my pocket knife. Do you guys love shredded lettuce on sandwiches as much as I do?

Day 24:

Found my old red cellidor classic.  Strongly enough I found this little guy on thr sidewalk leading up to an Olive Garden about 5 years ago.

Sadly, it saw no use today. Just kinda hung out on the clip.... Waiting for something to need cut, or filed, tweezed, picked, or lighted screwed.

Look in a store that carries outdoor camping and hiking gear, perhaps for boy scouts. That's the most likely place to find a small chromed metal mirror small enough to fit into a shirt pocket. If it's too big you can cut it down to the size you need.

Day 21:
(Attempting it ALL single layer!)

Today the brand new Sentinel Plus takes its maiden voyage! Didn't need to use the Phillips as it was used to prepare breakfast this morning. First up was slicing the bagel. Medical Bill may find the following picture disturbing, but rest assured I did not end up eating the bagel with my fingers. We in the Danger Club are adept at teetering on the brink and stare back at the abyss with a sneer.

What would a bagel be without cream cheese? Naught but a simple roll with a hole in the middle! Threw in a small slice of ham and now it's transformed into a gastronomical delight.

But wait! There's more!! We all know an apple a day can keep Medical Bill away . . . from surprise inspections that delay progress . . . placated that we're living a healthy lifestyle. The Sentinel plus is just the right size to cut the apple into wedges. I will make the wedge cuts not quite completely through until I've made them all. Then I'll separate the wedges by finishing the cuts.

Once it's in wedges, the region where the seeds were is pared out. The following may once again be disturbing to Medical Bill (someone please cover his eyes), but the Danger Club handles this task with ease.

And now we have breakfast. While preparing the bagel and apple the coffee was brewing in the Bunn coffee maker which makes a 12 cup pot in under four minutes. Bagel with cream cheese and ham, an apple and strong java! What a great way to start the day and the Sentinel Plus has passed its initiation rites with flying colors.

The Sentinel Plus will get its workout when I do the Discontinued Challenge during November! I'll do the 111mm Challenge at a later time.

Day 25

Switched up today, partly to be able to take this picture easier. The Soldier I'd not a very subtle tool.
So I gave blood today and I can really recommend it to anyone who is able to. It's a simple procedure that goes quickly and since they test the blood before using it you get to know if there's any problem.
Oh, and you help save lives!
