Thanks guys! I'll try to get some better pics of it soon, now that I've all the tweeners :D

Funny, I love these sheaths... But only one of three was any good. The bk17 sheath is perfect, both retention straps function great, everything is even, well stitched, and fits nicely.

My 15 sheath, all sorts of messed up/crooked stitching, and whoever assembled it, switched the retention straps so the long one is on the bottom, and the short on top... So the bottom strap is loose and the top barely fastens.

The 16 sheath, the bottom strap was stitched so low down, that it was impossible to snap, so had to be removed (kinda wanted to try this anyway, not like I'm jumping out of a plane).

So, decent sheaths, but man, no qc!

Funny enough, the grind quality on the edge bevel follows a similar story. Bk17, perfect, even to the tip. Bk16, okay, one side is a bit wavy, and the sides are a bit uneven. The 15 is fairly even, but so tiny. Since I haven't got reprofiling equipment, they stay the way they are indefinitely, no huge deal, as they're sharp. I just wish an even bevel could be expected?

These gripes aside, I really do love these knives. I wonder if the 16/17 would fit in a combat master mini sheath well, as the stock sheaths are a touch long, being made for the 15. Maybe some leather is in order? I'm torn between either a sheath, or some scales... :D

My 15 sheath is fine as were the 5's sheaths but the Spec Ops CM's are just at a completely different level (but also a different price point as well).

My 15 is still in the org sheath as I opted to put the SRKs in the Combat Masters.

I'm kinda wanting to strip that 15 blade.....  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

(but it will never happen) :D

I'm still torn, but I think some wood tweener scales are up next. The sheaths work well enough, I can wear them no issue, and the 15 one fits well haha.

Do it :pok:  :pok: Give that ffg what it wants, make it a slicer, remove the bumpy coating  :pok:

Though I understand the choice not to, is there a particular reason? I love the bumpy coating, I just didn't want it on my slicer, y'know? Leaving the 16 and 17.

All I want is a saber ground 16

Mostly bummed I missed a fpr 15 and 17, both new went for under $60... What I would've given for a roll stamped 17!!!

The BK-5 has a smoother coating, sorta like a BO coating but the 15 has BK  "Ben Grim" indestructible coating. It's fine but I like smooth better and....I have.....been peeking over at a Becker Forum and those guys strip, stone wash, patina, acid wash and file the heck out of their blades. Even considered a BK-32 or 39 purchase!   :ahhh

Man, I've been lookin at the 10 and the 32. That's one gorgeous knife. Do the scales feel as solid as the grivory, almost glassy? Or more like the nylon on the tweeners?

Pardon the ignorance, but what is the difference between the BK32 and BK2?

The coating, and the scales.

Bk2 has the new bumpy black coating, and black scales.

Bk32 has the same polymer coating, without the black dye or bumpy texture, and green scales.
Also, the logo is laser etched across a large section of the blade, instead of just down by the handle like the 2.

I see. Huh, a chick with a bk2  That's a new one by me! Even when I was in outdoor school, the only knife I remember a girl carrying was a Kershaw leek. Good on ya for raising her right!

I've been tempted by the 2 and the 10 lately, and since the 10 is the same price, and I don't really need a sharpened prybar...

Then again I have a lot of functional knives, maybe a prybar is what I need... I was looking at the 32. Wish beckers hadn't been marching up in prove over the last few years. Also  At the 39, because I love the thought of the 9, but every time I get close, I remember how pointless chopping is to me, and since I have the 4 if I need to...

I really like the clear coating it is slick and looks good. I hope they do more models with it.   :tu:   To quote tradewater think of the the big logo as you knife wearing a t-shirt.   :D
