Day 23
I used the locking flat blade blade of the electrician to tighten a switch plate, but didn't get a picture of that.
So, here is another picture of the electrician with the Svord that arrived yesterday.  I can't stop playing with that Svord! :D

I'm a sucker for a Trapper.  :like:
They are nice...they are so close in comparison to the 111mm SAK’s. That’s the reason I like mine so much.

This has been a rough challenge for me. The traditional knife world is just not for me.

I haven’t even seen too many of the different brands/styles that I would be interested in.

I miss my SAKs. I miss my Boker. I miss my Leathermans.

It has, though, given me a great appreciation for those that can carry a simple traditional knife and be happy.  I just can’t do it.

Doing the August Explorer challenge.  Will be a relief. Haha

I’m the opposite...there being no right or wrong...I would have a hard time going back to doing a challenge where its only one model. Seeing a variety of different knives is more than half the fun of the challenge. The input and their experience add more to the challenge. I’m thinking for August I might do the SAK 30 models for 30 days on my own.

Day 23 - 3 Electricians, all different manufacturers.
Top is a Colonial, with extremely tight back springs.
Middle is a Klein & Son’s I bought when college for working my wire boards.
Bottom is marked CAMCO and other side 229 is stamped on the tang.
Tried carry this morning off the Klein but had no use. (Image removed from quote.)

Day 23

Ready to roll tomorrow. Gotta take the dog to the vet. It can be a pain in the rear, driving the 20-something minutes to the same vet we typically use for livestock, and my dog really doesn't like the particular vet I've had a crush on since I was a teen (my dog doesn't get bothered at any other vets in the practice; and this is an all-girl practice anyway), and the fact the dog gets more nervous than me at the doctor; but it's all necessary to keep my mutt healthy.

And this time, I'm making danged sure I have my blunt tip Skedco Medic handy. The whole HVAC incident (which recently got fixed; an old friend of my grandfather ended up being the one who fixed it; it cost $1000, 800 of which was the R-22) would not have happened had I been using this knife.  It ain't pointy, but it's sharp and will rip through anything it needs to. I do need to change out the section of utility knife blade that serves as a belt cutter. Still cuts, but I've wore it out on baler twine, clam pack, and paracord.

I figure it's easier just to replace the section; and it's intended to be user-replaceable anyway. I'm emailing Skedco to see if they carry a replacement (while an Eickhorn, Skedco markets this particular version, and is easier to deal with than Eickhorn).  It's nothing specially made--just a section of hobby-size snap-off utility knife blade (3-4 sections?) screwed between the handle and liner. But it still cuts; which can't be said for 99% of the "seatbelt cutters" that knives often come with.

Looks like a nice EDC set up!  :tu:
I did HVAC for the last 17 years...people weed whacking from 15 yards away can hit a rock just right and puncture the coils. It happens to anyone. Yes, R-22 when I left was at $445 a drum. Probably higher now.

Why are you depriving yourself of your Leathermans. You are allowed to carry and use a Multitool during this challenge just not use the knife on it but instead use your traditional for cutting tasks .

I have been. Thinking more of my Leatherman Crater Knives...

Is it Felix Immler?

He´s more of a tips and tricks man using SAKs but does some carving/whittling too

Day 24

Hurrying out the door, let me just post this one up and then reply to the thread later.

GEC 06, Pemberton, who would have guessed I actually quite like this little knife, at a mere ~2in, it has a perfect pull of 5.5-6(SAK being 5, the way I see it, 10 being welded shut).
