Day 5:
My Fuse collection.  The two on the left are users.  Notice that the one on the far left has the nail nick on the opposite side.  Knifeless Fuse, Black Oxide and the Cabella's Hunter Orange.

Very nice collection SMiller  :tu:

Sorry, I was going back and posting the pics I took for other reasons on previous days, so that I can be on schedule with everyone. I asked, nobody answered how to handle it. Soem of these were used in other posts for different reasons. I posted the gerber in the mp600 club for instance.

Charles.

Sorry but that isn't how the challenge works. You can start late but today will be Day one for you.

Without this sounding creepy I have something wrapped up in a bin liner under my bed that will fit in here rather well and as a bonus it’ has a story attached that has yet to be told on the internet.
Waited for the post that starts off "so to get to the dark web, first you need to download....."   :D

Well, I asked how to come in late, and nobody responded, so I did what I thought was right. You want I should delete all those posts and start fresh?

Welcome to the first-ever Unleashed challenge! The rules are loose and the fences have been knocked down—you’ll be off the leash. June is the month to run wild with 30 blades in 30 days*.

The goal:

Have some fun, show-off a few blades, maybe dig up some old knives or multitools you’d forgotten about. It’s a challenge to champion 30 different blades over 30 days, so there should be a lot of room to have fun with this one.

Have a favorite knife that never quite fit into some other challenge?  This is the place for that beauty….

This is the challenge where you get to unleash your inner-knife-knut and feature your favorites, just be sure you are bringing something with a blade to the game….

The rules:

1. Post a photo of a bladed tool every day for thirty (30) days during the month of June. Any blade will do, this challenge is unchained and off the leash; run wild. Show us your fixies, your folders, your axes, or your sickles!  Thirty fixed blades?  Yes! (and mad props to you...)  Thirty traditionals?  Oh, hell yes!  Your prized collection of plane blades?  Well......surely you have a SAK or two, right?

2. Each day post a photo of blade that you haven’t feature in the challenge before—we’re looking to see thirty (30) different blades here. No repeat entries!

3. Please give a little history of the knife or tool you are posting.  How did it end up in your collection?  Do you use it?  How does it perform for you?  Would you recommend it (or one like it)?  Why is it special?

4. Have fun. Hopefully you’ll be using some of the knives and tools you share. Take some action shots. Test that safe-queen out with a task or two. Regardless, have fun.

*please, do NOT literally run with unprotected knives or blades......or scissors. Don't be McStitichy!

In case you haven't read about the challenge rules

I read the rules. The rules specifically say "The rules are loose and the fences have been knocked down—you’ll be off the leash."

Anyhow, I deleted the other posts. Will come through with today's carry (and make it "day 1") shortly.

Charles.

Day 5: Chose the Queen #63 Railsplitter, American Walnut. Produced in 2015; and I've had it pretty much ever since then. Only Queen I owned for quite a few years. D-2 is hard to sharpen, but for a work knife, is pretty much where it's at. Edge was pretty bad when I got it (this was not long before they went under, at a time their quality was also notoriously bad), then I dinged the sheepsfoot blade (cut into metal hammer head hafting a new handle for it). Recently, I picked up the Worksharp Guided Field Sharpener, and it works pretty well I'll admit. May have to replace the strop, messed it up accidentally pushing, not pulling the blade across it.

Personally, in a lot of ways, I prefer the Railsplitter over Stockman. The handle is just large enough for my uses. It is also comfortable during very heavy cutting. I know Queen did make 1095 versions, so I might try those soon. I'm hoping there's a Moore Maker version.

DAY 5
One of the setups I might throw on my pack when headed out on dual sport bikes.   This one is a Tops/Buck CSAR-T, with a SOG Twitch II, and a Leatherman Rebar.

Day 1

I'm working from home and barely put pants on today. But I was drinking from my NCSU mug, and I've had this knife on the Lansky in the other room for the past few days, putting an edge on it. (It had the worst edge imaginable on it). I snagged this off of eBay a month or so ago. I don't really know anything about it. "USA" is stamped on the blade. It's two layers with no liner between the layers, and it feels sorta cheap. The blades push against each other and it's difficult to open. BUT, it's the only NCSU-branded knife I've ever found, so I snagged it. Helps that it was also dirt cheap. I've seen and held a UNC version of this same knife in my hand as well. It was in better shape and the blades didn't drag against each other, but NCSU is my alma mater.

Normally this knife would never leave the shelf, but today I finished sharpening it and its in my pocket and next to my coffee! :)

Charles.

I am pretty sure that's a Colonial--they put out tons of those little jacks for advertising and commemorative issues from the '50s-'80s. Good steel in them. They sharpen up very well.

Day 5

Today is the first quality single blade folder that I bought myself - Benchmade Osbourne.  This knife spent a lot of time in my pocket on ship.  Usually keeping company with a Gerber Mr. Pinchy (which is somewhere around, but not sure where).  This knife opens so easily with a flick of wrist that I do not even have to touch the thumb studs.

That knife is what got me into Benchmade knives and learning what a quality knife was.
I couldn’t afford the Osbourne so I bought a Griptilian
