Sympathies to my friends in SE Minnesota and Iowa.  9 inches of snow before Halloween?  No thanks.  I live in Michigan and I was swimming last weekend and went bike riding today.  But we'll get ours soon enough....

@Tet, thanks for the compliment on the cheese knife.  I love this SAK, and use it literally 5-6 days a week.   And congrats on your Winter Magic PX!

And I'm sorry guys, but I have to post for Day 21 a few hours early because I won't have a chance tomorrow.   I came home from riding tonight and there was a package waiting for me.  I normally hate "unboxing" posts, but the Old Cross 30-day challenge seems like the perfect place for this since this particular package is full of OC goodness.    I'll feature the SAKs wherein in the days remaining....

Bonus Pic - I got a new bike for Father's Day and contemplated picking up the bike tool, but decided it was too much $$ for what it was.  When I saw it on Amazon the other day for half price, resistance was futile.

I have a couple of those in my bike packs - also got on the cheap. :tu:

Nice haul of OC lovelies there, Myron!

HD and G-D - those scales are in spectacular condition!  :like: :like:

Day 21

It’s miserable and raining here this morning, so I thought I’d go for a hot lunch for a change - OC Solo did sterling work on the veg prep. Back to the keyboard for the rest of the day (working from home has some pluses)

@Rizio - have you put the bike tool to use yet?  I obviously haven't had a chance.  Also I've been admiring those  scales too!  Nice lunch mate!

@Myron - I have the new Cheesemaster, love it!  Is yours the 1.0 or the 2.0 with the fork? I can't tell.   And tell us about that silver OC - I see something in the engraving plate.

How was your smoke Allan?

Thanks Tet!  Mine's the v1, so no fondue fork.  One of these days I'll get a v2; seems like the fondue fork would be great for fishing pickles out of a jar.

The silver old cross that just came yesterday is a mini-grail I've been wanting forever, a Swiss Rail Technician.  The engraving is SBB CFF, which are the abbreviations for Swiss Federal Railways in German and French, respectively.  I'll try to post some pics of it tonight.

It's also common to see SBB CFF FFS, which adds the abbreviation for the Italian word as well.

Must confess that I’ve not had cause to use the bike tool yet - it’s a just in case really - I have acquired quite a set of cycle tools other the past 40 years, and my bikes get fettles and cleaned within an inch of their lives - as a result they almost never let me down (aside from the rare puncture), which is tempting fate isn’t it??!!

@Myron - thanks for describing your knife!  I look forward to seeing some more picks.  As for the cheese knife - I don't like pickles so I'm just going to have to have a fondue one of these days to get use of the fork!

@Rizio- Yes that's a good thing you haven't had to use it.  But it's nice to be prepared, I guess that's why we all carry a SAK.

Day 21
My new floor for the bathroom came in yesterday.  While it's acclimatizing, I used the Electrician to pry off the last little piece of trim that was between the vanity and shower that I'd been avoiding.

@knifecoop, yes, I'd like to see too!

As promised, here are Day 21 bonus pics of the new Technician.  It's interesting to note that the cap lifter has both the ground scraper edge and the wire bending notch.  The blade is pretty scratched up but is full length.  The shank is Elinox branded.  The fine screwdriver is ever so slightly tweaked, but I don't care.  I love this thing, and honestly never thought I'd find one.

Day 22 - The OC Pioneer pictured with some new friends it rescued from a shipping box yesterday. I picked up a 2018 Berry Red Pioneer and a 2019 Gold Pioneer and Cadet from a fellow collector.

Cheers!

Many thanks, knifecoop! Good score!

Day 22

OC Pioneer’s main blade gained access to a package dropped off by my Postie today - a Parker 75 Premier fountain pen and ballpoint got off the usual suspect - the FP has a bent clip, but should be fixable with a little care, though the dents to the ballpoint look a little harder to fix.... Still I’m really interested in the FP. Both need a careful and thorough clean, and I’ve some NOS 18k nibs inbound from Battersea Pen Home to extend the scope - broad nibs are a bit too big for my writing.

Thanks for the pics of the technician Myron, its fantastic.  Can you date it using the scraper/notch combo?  I'm not very good at that yet.
