this challenge is up my alley,i'd like to join as well.
are pocket carried items included?
some of my gear is pocketed.
maybe i should dump that into a pouch on the bat belt?

It'd be great to have you! You can still pocket items during the challenge, but the more on your belt the better! I will always encourage another pouch  :pok:

Less than a week away now

I figured it would be a good time to give a bit of a break down of my January carry :D

First off is the 3 things on my belt the Hunt N Fisch fixed blade and sheath from CRKT, my LM MT sheath and cell phone holder

The contents of each individually now

The CRKT Hunt N Fisch and it's sheath will be carry at the small of my back :tu: Still happy with this purchase and this blade :dd: :like:

Next is my Niteize XXL cell phone holder with LM Piranha and Buck double sided diamond sharpener :tu:

and lastly my Lm camo sheath  the MT will vary during the month but the rest of the contents will always be there (as they always are ;) ) I have a pack of LM flat bits and the removable bit adapter, some different T-shank saws and an awl converted from a long LM bit :tu:

I also have my Charge knife and Vic Executive and some other things on keys but those are all pocket carried

Excellent load out Poncho! That knife is lovely, I still need a horizontal/scout carry sheath some day  :dd:

Do you have to use the sharpening stone much on the go?

And come on folks, another few days left, I know a bunch of you have gotten stuff from santa to contribute here  :pok:

I don't usually carry anything on my belt.  I'm a big guy and I already have to turn sideways to get through doors and I really hate when something on my belt gets caught by chairs when I sit.  I wear cargo pants or shorts so I have a pocket for everything.  That was on purpose.  However, I am willing to give it a go for this challenge and we'll just call it an experiment.

Welcome to the team Alan

As also a big guy, I recommend carrying more behind, at 4-5/7-8 o'clock , helps to avoid the pouches being pushed down (in my case) and catching on things  :tu:

Having completed the EDC in DEC challenge I have already transitioned to the Bat Belt.  I'm carrying a multitool pouch, a flashlight pouch, and a phone / utility pouch on my left (Duluth Warehouseman's pouch) and a fixed blade knife (Wissahickon Critter) on my right.  That's 4 items on my belt already.  Haven't even got to my keys or anything else yet.  I have found one chair so far that I no longer fit in without shimmying sideways when sitting or standing.  I don't know if I can hold out for 30 days but I'll stick it out for as long as I can stand it.  I'll just say for now, it's going to take some getting used to. I hope we can get more members to join us.:pok:

Now that is a good batbelt effort! There's nothing in the rules about removing the belt for sitting down, though a more tactical quick detach belt may be needed  :pok:

More members would be excellent! Apparently a bunch of folks want to carry around really big SAKs for January

The harrassment active recruitment of more participants to join us is always welcome  :pok:

No reason not to do both, although they can only get one badge. I have my 111 in a pocket of my utility pouch as well.  It will probably see use on food prep this month because it is stainless while my fixie is 1095.

Two challenges; one badge  :pok: How come

I thought; one = none & two = one (do I need to do three to get two  :ahhh )

I haven't seen the BatBadge yet (I assume the 111 is the current issue  :dunno: )

My brain hurts... :bnghd:

Day 01
I've arranged my bat belt from left to right with a flashlight pouch and Duluth Warehouseman's pouch containing my phone, pen and sharpie, and Vic 111mm Outrider on my left side, and my Wissahickon fixed blade knife and Victorinox Spirit in a SOG pouch on the right. The Wissahickon knife is attached to the belt right over the back pocket so the bottom of the sheath is in the pocket so it is completely hidden under my shirt and doesn't snag on anything.  I used the SOG pouch instead of the leather pouch the Spirit came with because it has a clip rather than a belt loop so it is easier to remove or adjust its position. I used the outrider while eating black eyed peas (Hoppin' Jon) which is considered good luck on New Years Day. Also had some incredible smoked brisket fajitas with roasted garlic and poblano peppers. That should all keep me warm for at least a couple of days.

Day 1

d1 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

this is my edc,my belt [a locally made dual belt system] is structured around my pistol and spare mags,ST300 and Surge are in the pouches.
i know that this isn't an edc challenge per se,but my belt is pretty bland without the supporting gear.
the rest of the gear is in various pockets.
i'll include pics of individual items over the next few days

DAY 1 (Happy Near Year Awl  :drink: )

So, here is my work Bat-Vest (we prefer not to wear belts due to back strain etc)

I was on a particular operation today so the only bit of kit that saw action was the small jigglers (basic lock picks)
I can't really take usage shots whilst at work  :twak: so I'll divulge some of the pouch contents over the coming month  ;)

Some of the kit is obvious in it's use (I hope  )

Day 2

d2 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

i'm not getting much tool time, probably be that way for some time.
sorry about the gun being blurred out,i prefer not to post pics of my guns.
it's a Canik P120,very similar to CZ [i have 2,a 75B and a SP01].
i made the Batbuckle about 23 years ago,i thought it would be cool for this challenge.
i also made the mini pry, think it's CP grade Ti

Interesting rig! Is that a comp. belt modded for daily use or really a two layer duty belt?

The mag. pads in your earlier pic. made me think IPSC production rig. but I’m not sure anymore
