 :iagree:  :like:

hah, It only took them how long to come up with someone that should have been in their lineup since 1998?

As a benefit to LM, they now have something they can replace any PST/II/Kick/Fuse(?) that come in.

They were probably getting sick of handing over Rebars for those warranties....

I had not thought of that but it would be a comparable tool to all of them and that is a good point :salute:

Plus, we can put Wave scissors in it. And the Wingman package opener. :like:

Definitely!

That being said, I never understand why ppl want the package opener when all you have to do is sharpen the can opener to accomplish the same thing...

Max, I never thought of that.  I've always viewed the can opener as a waste of space, but I'll give it a try as a clamshell package opener.

As for the Bond vs. the Rebar, and while I am very much looking forward to receive the Bond (and pocket clip), I'm guessing that I'll eventually default back to the Rebar in order to get the serrated blade.  I was at my 83 year old mother's house last week, and she had run over a garden hose with zero-turn mower.  The hose was wrapped around the blades, rendering the mower inoperable.  While it took some effort, the Rebar's serrated blade dissected the hose and allowed me to unwrap everything.  I would probably still be there if all I had on me was a plain edge.  So I'll have to see if size or utility wins out as between the Bond and Rebar.  Either way, I am looking forward to the Bond more than any MT in recent memory.

The can opener from Leatherman does have the advantage of being a multitool in and of itself.  I have this fear of carrying a tool that’s unable to open a can, and appreciate any tool that does a decent job of it.

It takes me a while to catch on.  I prolly knew about it, then forgot it, and then learned it again in this thread for the "first" time.   ???

I kind of like the idea of the Bond. A slightly thinner/lighter Rebar. I might have to pick one of these up.

And I have seen some people getting Waves for any of the above.

The Bond is listed on Heinnies now, and the price is surprisingly reasonable at 60 quid! For the first time in years,  I'm excited by a new LM!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Which is at least quite a bit less than the RRP of the Rebar at £85.

That is surprisingly reasonable!

I wonder how drastic a clip would set us back over here, I could just make the one on my T4 shared between them but that is a bit of hassle

This is going to sound really ignorant, but do you chaps have to add tax on top of that $49 price tag?

For those states that have sales tax, yes.

I just ordered one. Now my PST can live a happy retirement. I currently carry a pre-date model; so it's pretty darn old. Normally, the new models LM makes are "meh", but the Bond is perfect for my use.   I will be taking the clip off my Free T2 and putting it on the Bond. That tool never meshed with me at all.  If anyone here would trade me any pliers-based LM for it, I'd probably agree.

The Bond will be a pocket clip carry tool. However, that sheath will be seeing use with my Rebar a lot.

First one on the bay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/333997954722?hash=item4dc3d456a2%3Ag%3AMmcAAOSwuN5gkFro&LH_BIN=1

and clip from the same

https://www.ebay.com/itm/233785366949

$59 free shipping for both

  what a smurfy thing to do.  The only thing that's worse is the Northwoods traditionals and the GEC knives that end up there immediately upon release

I think Photon Light is an official Leatherman dealer, so that's sort of different.

:iagree: Plus they are the exact same price as LM website, so they aren't trying to jack the price up like some :salute:

I am not positive but I think I have bought from them before and had no problems  if not then I will know in a few days

Yes, I ordered one from them ::) :D I had part of a gift card for ebay left and used that to soften the cost on the bank account :ahhh :D

The total for me was $54.85 after tax :salute: So that means it was a total of $4.90 tax on top of the $49.95 (yes TN tax is higher than a lot of the other states ::) ) but we have less taxes in other places than some ;) :D

They seriously make apps to reduce size of pictures ::) We use to have just over 1mb limit on the pics but with the rising cost of server space it was reduced to 512kb 2 or 3 years ago  Glad to know scissors will fit :like: I believe I may have an extra pair in my box of parts as well :woohoo:

The eBay listing is actually cheaper, it was $6 shipping for me from Leatherman, while it was free on eBay. Unfortunately I bought the Leatherman listing the second I saw it so I spent $6 more than I needed to lol.
