How well does it clip carry? It looks like it's tapped for left hand carry primarily?

It does seems to be best suited for left side carry.  This is my left front pocket while seated.  The clip is positioned naturally at the edge of the pocket.  It works on the right side just fine though.  The first thing I noticed is how easily it slides into the pocket, since everything is smooth stainless.  Contrast that with a G10 or FRN folding knife, that chews the pocket.

Thank you, sire.  The only difficulty now is waiting 24 hours for the blue Loctite to fully cure.

I note that your trousers appear to have a reinforced pocket specifically for pocket clipped things?

Yeah, those are 5.11 Taclite Pro pants. They are reinforced in the clip area.

Would like to see the Bond compared up against an original PST, maybe even a PST II - along with the Rebar.

  Personally I carry a Victorinox Spirit X.

Had liked the PST save the new sheaths suck. If the leather fully encompassed the PST like the original and had a snap that would of stayed closed that would of been better. The heritage sheath lost my Flare. Not at all happy with that cheaply made sheath.Caught the sheath with its flap open when carrying a PST, and when I found a PST in the car by the adjuster rails I stopped carrying it. Spirit X allows me to access tools without having to flip the tool open - and the tools lock in place.

Was reluctant in getting a Spirit X. If only it had a better knife steel... See what you guys did to me??

I will try and compare them to the PST, PST II, Pulse and Rebar when I get mine :salute:

Of course others here can beat me to it if they get theirs first ;)

Leatherman tells me that the clip and screws for the FREE P, T and Bond are the same.  The screws for the K are longer and will not work with the Bond.  That must be what Brother Tango has.

Exactly you are 100% right brother!
After a few emails with Leatherman they told me that I bought a K series pocket clip and those screws are longer. Starting on May 11 Leatherman now only ships one version of the pocket clip that will fit all series, I will receive my replacement in the next 30 days, so hopefully this will resolve the issue!
Thank you.
Enjoy!

Understood about the file, thanks.

I got the bright idea (duh  ???) to remove the clip and screws from my Free P4 and try it on the Bond.  It all works just fine.  Tango's screws (above) look a lot longer.  The screws from the P4 are short enough not to penetrate the handle too much, and do not rub against the tool set.  Its all good.  Being short screws, they would certainly benefit from some Loctite, though.

I wonder why the Curl is not less at retail. If Leatherman was worried about Wave clones from China this seems like the perfect way to kneecap them.

Exactly. Needs to be priced right at the Ozark Trail Multiforce. I'm sure once the Bond starts hitting places like Walmart and Lowe's (which I'm sure it will): it will be $40-ish (Multiforce is $40), but not sure about the Curl.

We don't even know if that price point is even tolerable for Leatherman without knowing what the margins are and the R&D/advertising costs are.

It's not about being the exact same price but making it close enough that along with Leatherman's warranty and robustness it's not worth getting the Ozark or any other Wave copy/clone. Who's going to get the clone for $30-40 when the Leatherman is $50-60. Obviously the Chinese companies can go cheaper in price but usually quality suffers on the cheaper ones. The good Chinese multitools are starting to be around the price where Victorinox for instance is cheaper than a Ruike with similar features. This is because of the volume that Victorinox produces knives with, it's hard to beat them.

The Bond is already in that price bracket and the Curl isn't even out yet, I hope it'll be in the same $50-$60 bracket but we don't know what the margins on any of these tools are to know what pricing is feasible.

Didn't somebody confirm the Curl would be higher at $80 MSRP? If not, my mistake.

Skimming the thread some people have said $80, but that started months ago and all the pcitures listed details but no pricing. It's possible I could have missed solid confirmation, but I'd rather wait to see a listed price before settling on such a high price point. $80 wouuld make it a very niche tool.
