Thank you, Zephon; I hope that you can just retighten the pivot and/or re-peen the scissors' pivot and have yours back in perfect working order. :tu:

I actually really like my Rebar, but I have a tradition of opening my girlfriends gifts with knives she's previously gifted me, and the Rebar (and Executive) don't fall into that category unfortunately  :ahhh

Though I'm not sure how I'd do with only internal opening tools all month loooong

I’ve got a prediction at the end of the challenge this early on.  On 2022, these 2 will be inseparable in a kit.

But until the new year, every move that will require the Rebar would have to be planned and deliberate due to the nature of internal opening tools.

Looks like a very capable pair to me, combining a nice OHO blade with a dependable MT is always a recipe for a winner.

My pants are in no risk of falling down so my pockets are always loaded, I usually carry a Rebar and Explorer in an organiser, a minichamp and dedicated knife loose in the pocket.
Check out my Youtube channel  for gear reviews, comparisons, and carry philosophy.

I know day 1 has yet to start for people on the other ends of the globe, but I’d like to share a little something that I did with the Rebar.

Bit holder in a Rebar + T10 (and a matching pair of T10 on an ST300) allowed me to take apart a Wingman…..to add a bit more of ‘value proposition’ in an otherwise neglected tool.  Still wish there was some ‘drop-in’ way to change the Wingman plier head.

Anyway, I’m enjoying the bit holder in the Rebar. It’s a matter of personal preference if you’ll use the bit adaptor on the philips or mod the tool to hold the bit holder. (Nope, I’m not doing that to my ST300….yet).

Day 1

To start not only the challenge but also the day, the Knifeless helped in fixing some toys: its Phillips helped remove battery tray cover off, the pliers to hold wire and reposition contact (and serve as the soldering iron's rest) and, with the help of its bit kit, open up and close the  Pocket Simon. The medium flat helped prying off the RC body and battery tray cover, and the antennae got straightened  with the pliers.

Day 1 of 30

Can't believe it is already December 2021 :ahhh

I have a stainless steel Rebar with me today :woohoo:

It needs to be known that from when they released the Rebar back around 2012 to sometime in 2016 that I carried a stainless steel Rebar almost exclusively  8) No mods no nothing :D Just pure Rebar goodness :D So in the last decade the Rebar has been my most carried tool, followed by my Charge Plus and third by something from the Supertool family 8)

Enough talky talky, now a few pics :D

Day 1

To start off, here is my quick Rebar story.

I'm the opposite of you Poncho - I have never used a Rebar.  :ahhh   During the time you were exclusively using a Rebar, I owned a few Leathermans, but my main multitool was still my "Mr Pinchy" that I had been using since the 90's.  The Rebar I'm using for this challenge is brand new and still very stiff.  I'm really looking forward to this challenge because it's forcing me to use a Leatherman that went straight into my collection pile the same day I bought it.  By the end of the challenge, I am hoping to have an appreciation of the Rebar, a worked in tool, and a nice pocket clip mod (I'll be watching what other people have done).

Here's my companion for the month.

Day 1

For the past couple of days I’ve had some noises coming from my cars front end. I took the tire off expecting suspension issues, but found found some loose plastic in the wheel hub instead. Phillips came in handy

My first post was kind of entrance to the challenge, made earlier in the day. Since then there has been some usage so today I'll post twice. Starting tomorrow I'll only post on the evenings so I could share the day's usage, if any.

Day 1 - part two

Long story short - we have chickens now. I build their coop and yard recently so there are still things that need tweaking. One loophole was that they can get on the nesting boxes and from there the fence of their yard is not that high. So today I went to check on them only to find one wandering in the garden. I knew from the beginning that I'll probably need to extend the fence but never got the time so today seemed as good time as any. Really didn't feel like going out to get chicken wire so I had to deal with random pieces I have lying around the backyard. Rebar was on my belt so naturally it helped.

First step was untying that string that holds a light fixture. Pretty fancy I know  :hatsoff:
On the serious side - I hate using my finger nails to untie things so my leathermans help a lot with those thin points on the pliers.

Next is tying the new net to the existing fence :

Then I needed few hooks in the ceiling to attach the net. Few nails and here comes the scarier part, I've heard of some Rebar heads broken while dealing with nails. So I grabbed as close to the handle as I could and carefully proceeded. The job was done, tool is still in great condition.

After the ladies were secured I had an afternoon snack.

I googled it in the Mother Language.  Yes - its a totally different meaning in The Colonies.  I changed it to backpack.  That totally explains why Skade always giggles when I say it.
