Multitools in the size of a Squirt
on: January 29, 2022, 11:56:12 AM
My latest EDC setup includes a Skinth stuffed with a range of multitools that leaves me satisfied (for the moment).
The main combination includes a SC XLT and a Skeletool (plus a Victorinox card).
When I use this combination, there's some free space over the 4mm bits container that fits exactly a LM Squirt.
I like Squirts and I have 2, an P4 and an S4. I choose the S4 because the scissors are more heavy duty than those on the SAK and the card.
But I just wonder about the existence of a tool of similar dimensions (5.72x1.98x1.27mm, or 2.25"x0/78"x0.5") that would add some other capability that's not included in the XLT & Skeletool & Swisscard).
What tools do you know of that size?

Thank you.

Not many things come to mind.
My favorites are the Squirt P4, Micra, Manager/Rambler, Classic.

There are a few options in this thread:

OH, thank you.
A post of Chako is always all-inclusive.
I see there are some other tools, but they are all built around pliers or scissors, like my Squirts.
So, no need to replace them.

Very helpful, thanks again.

Micra has both very good scissors (like squirt S), AND a nice pair of tweezers, even better than Vic's
SOG Crosscut also has a toothpick
Meet me also on youtube & instagram for mostly knives (and multitools) content

Now, these are indeed different. Although I'm not sure I would use them often and they go for 50 and 70€ respectively.

The ES4 would be my suggestion also. But the price has greatly increased since they were discontinued. Tough to justify the high cost when they would rarely be used.

Didn't know they got so pricey. Bought mine when they where still produced. I use it alot I really like the tools on it. Since I'm an electrical engineer the pliers get used too. But I do understand, especially if you don't use the pliers to often it is hard to justify the cost. Especially if you already have a s/p4

Hobby knife.
The handle is tall, still fits.
Blades can be used handheld anyway.
The handle can use surgical blades also.
Rarely needed in everyday practice but it remains an option.
