Day 18 of 60Today used blade to open mail, no work for rest week, catched flu and fevef so mostly day gone just watching TV.(Image removed from quote.)Only Tools Matters
Just out of curiosity, I don't know whether it was the angle the photo was taken, but it seems to me like you have modded the blade into a wharncliff shape?
Day 18 Spirit actually was useful today. Once I pulled out the correct flat blade I was able to open my key fob to replace the battery [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Day 18Took advantage of SMKW's Friday The 13th machete sale (clever marketing if nothing else) and got a machete. Chisel-doohickey opened, and plyers removed the safety tip. My wife got a good laugh out of that little piece of plastic on a big (not even pointy) blade.
Day 18More chisel implement action opening a box.
Day 19(Image removed from quote.)
hope you get better soon
By my own admission I've failed to get on board with this Challenge Oops !But on the bright side I've been busy and just moved. I've used the wood saw on my Spirit to good effect widening the outlet for the washing machine hose. For breaking open boxes I started with my Black SC but when I saw one of the removals chaps using a 111mm to good effect swapped for my Forester and I haven't looked back Good to see there's plenty of Spirit action even if I'm in the audience
I have learned that any of my MT saws or SAK saws always performed better on PvC pipe tan my hacksaw.
Day 19: Had to do some plumbing repairs. The Vic saw works as well, or even better, on PVC as it does wood.
I looked up that chisel tool sharp corner thinge we have all grown to love as the unofficial box opener, turns out it was supposed to be a "cable cover longitudinal cutter"
Made a big difference for every day carry for me.
Prime time. Opened up some new bedding. Strange how that’s exciting when you get older.
Day 19:Sometimes the hot pads are just too far away [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] And used the serrated blade to cut some rope for an event tent stakes, but didn’t get a pic while we put it up.Tools used thus far:Serrated blade x2Scissors x5Pliers x9Saw x4Spear point blade x6Phillips x6Pry bar x52mm flathead x2Wire cutters x1Package opener x5Wire scraper x1Wire stripper x1Awl x3File x2Can opener x1
:like:I find the metal saw/file also works really great on PVC. I’ve used the one on my Spirit a number of times for it, and it’s what I just used installing the dish washer drain connection.Good call. I don’t think I’ve used it for its intended purpose, I just use the wire scraper. Indeed, the clip is great. Also leave it to Vic to make a clip that also fits well in the sheath.
I'm going to try that with the file! I've used the Rebar file but never tried cutting with the Vic version.
Day 19Nothing day. I expect a busy weekend for the Spirit. I'll be traveling for a convention, and someone always winds up needed something fixed.
Day 20I use this pill crusher for Coco’s heart medication as she won’t eat them unless mixed into her food, they’re supposed to be flavoured so she’ll eat them, but nope After a while it gets gunked up and needs scraping out. Have tried various tools during this years challenges, so to the Spirit. Tried the chisel, awl and large flathead, flathead won out but think 93mm awl probably still the best so far although the curved can opener on an Aussie/British army knife very close (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)
Coco knows, don’t give me that nasty artificial flavored medicine.
Day 19Phillips driver on my MX Clip. Great tool!!!
