How are you liking the GOAT, Surge? I was close to pulling the trigger on one, then the ROXON was announced. I decided to go all in on that platform just because it looked a little more ergonomic and user friendly...
Hi Kev'I was an early adopter of the G.O.A.T and waited for what must have been the best part of two years for its arrival I opted for a number of extras including the S35VN blade etc That said, I'm not getting on with it at all. I find the thumb holes too small for proper OHO along with the actual mechanism causing me to dismantle it as I try to open it. I could have opted for a non-locking blade (to make it UK EDC friendly) but I suspected that there would be no half stop and could therefore, lead to potential for the blade to fold back in anything but light use (unlike my Spyderco UKPK)Basically, I spent more on this thing than I did on my LM Arc and I've used it more in this challenge (4 days) than I have done since I got it.I'm sure others love it but it just doesn't really work for me I have tried to get the Flex Companion but it seems vitually impossible in the UK
DAY 4Another day of not very much use Awl I did was put a lanyard on the G.O.A.T but I really can't imagine that it'll lead to it being carried more (UK blade rules etc. )You've awl done yourselves proud though

Day 4Gotta say, not sure how thrilled I am on the Roxon side of the fence. In the unlocked position, I can flick hard enough to not only deploy all the tools (sometimes some lock, but not all), but open the tool release. The odds that I'll literally fling everything across the room seem vanishingly small, and I guess I should keep it locked, but this:1. Doesn't do a lot for my feelings about the sturdiness of the tool.2. Probably a safety issue.3. Probably a legal issue in some jurisdictions if you have a knife blade on there.I spent a lot less than Surge on my Roxon parts, but I'm also not looking forward to using it much besides the challenge. In general, both Flexes are kind of bulky and cheap feeling. I'm going to soldier on for now, but debating buying the set of implements I currently have in my cart or just cutting my losses and finishing out the month with what I have.
Hey Everyone... KG finally made it to the party! Sorry I'm late. I just bought my first house and I have been moving everything for the last 2 weeks. I JUST got my internet hooked up an hour ago! I haven't finished my modifications to my Coleman Prolock yet, so I have been carrying a Flex Companion each day.
DAY 5Once again not much real world use Used the scalpel blade to cut open some clam-shell type packaging
Since I can't seem to open a scissors without hurting myself, I'm pretty sure I would lose a hand trying to use the scalpel...
Day 5, messing around with scissors at work today. Not quite as good as Victorinox scissors, but get the job done.
