Day 4

The Spartan's large blade handled paracord with ease. What am I gonna do with only about two feet of paracord? You'll have to wait till Wednesday to find out.

Great stuff, peoples.

Speaking of mineral oil, it is the primary component of Johnson's Baby Oil (plus that great fragrance), as well as the lubricating component of WD40 (between 10-25% of total volume per the MSDS).

Just don't get them mixed up.   :ahhh

For day 1, here is a black Spartan playing hide and seek in my wife's flower pot. She is amazingly supportive of my addiction, er I mean collection. Of course, I don't say anything when new plants keep appearing at the house. Everyone wins.

Day 2:
I got this one in a lot of several SAKs. I have never carried a white one, and I'm usually not big on advertising scales, but I really like the cross that is part of the logo on this one. Expect to see some more of it this month.

Day 3:
This is another white one that came in the same lot as the previous one. By the end of the month I will probably sand and polish the scales to remove the advertising. I think it will make a very pretty Spartan.

Day 4:
My favorite Spartan in my collection is this plain red one from the early 80s. This may sound strange, but there are a few SAKs in my collection that just have a better feel in the hand. I can't explain what it is about each one but I like them better than others of the sake model. Along with my 1980 Soldier and a Sportsman also from the early 80s this Spartan is one of those knives. It is pictured in front of the reason we choose our house. My daughter and I had many wonderful conversations over the years while I pushed her in the tire swing.

The WHITE SPARTANs appear so fresh, even with the brands imprinted.

I love your hidden Spartan in the flowers, especially your wife supporting the addiction!🙂

My wife was the same way!  Then learned later, that her BEAR COLLECTION, Longaberger Baskets and fancy dinnerware purchases cost way more than any knives I was buying…

As they say I was a cheap date. Set me in a corner and feed me!😎

PS: WELCOME ABOARD!  Psyjohn!🥳
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 4

I switched to 84mm Sportsman for today. I used it for several little tasks for which it is great to have a SAK in your pocket - light prying during yard work, opening bottle of beer and finally wine opening. No major projects, just a convenient tool at your disposal!

LoopCutter, I don't think either of them have ever seen any use. I've had them in a box for at least 2 years. Guess it's time they see the light of day.

Very nice, I had not seen Solid Blue scales on a SPARTAN, only the translucent scales.

Is it a dark blue or a pale blue or do you have two different SPARTANs?

It’s the same knife, just different lighting.

Powernoodle Day 5

I used the Spartan to open a bottle of Xyzal antihistamine tablets, and bisect one.

Welcome aboard psyjohn!  This is great everyone!!  It's nice to see some corkscrew action too!

Day 5
A little makeshift repair on Mrs. R's car to keep the window up until I could make a better wedge and get the regulator replaced. I took a straw, cut it into a couple of pieces and used the can opener tip to slide the rubber seal back so I could put the wedges in.  When I got home I replaced them with cardboard wedges.

I fully understand you, as I feel the same thing.
I carry the Black Spartan because I Just love It, in spite of ALL the others. Same with Saphire.
