Welcome andrea.from.roma!

As for rulers on a multi... I disagree with 'em. Carry yer own god flabbin' one, it's not even flat?! C'MON.
Rulers don't take up any space... and using a clunky multi ruler is just... #%(*%)@#$! C'MON! :D

I'm with ya Princess !

Does Felinevet sell the spyderco sharpmaker? Or where can I get one for a good price?
BTW, which version of sharpmaker is ideal for the Spirit (serrated peanut butter blade!)? ???

The Sharpmaker is a standard product, so one size fit's all :)

As for the cheapest, well I'd suggest emailing either Felinevet or Marc at https://edcdepot.com as they both have excellent prices and service. And if they haven't got what you want in stock, then they can usually order it in :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

when you compair the spirit to any other MT it wins hands down.

You forgot a word.  It should read .   when you compair the spirit to any other VICTORINOX MT it wins hands down.  Now that I would agree with.

But the way you put it .     ::)

ouch... what i should have said was. "for me... IMHO the spirit wins hands down"  :D
i looked at nearly every MT available before i got a spirit. shoot... i'm still looking at MTs (sooner or later i'll have that wave i've had my eye on),  but, every time i weigh the value of it or any other compared to the spirit it comes up short.
i don't need a ruler on a multi. oddly, i have measured my fingers, hands, forearm (among other body parts  ;)) to have a general reference of smaller lengths and i trust that more than a ruler on a multitool. i deal with measurements all day long.
in my very limited experience... nothing else compairs.... to the vic spirit that is.... what can i say... i'm a big fan  :tu:

Your quite right , the Spirit is nearly the perfect multitool , but not quite .I too use a ruler sometimes . Not often but now and again . You really must get a Wave . I now rate my Wave up there with my Spirit but it lacks an Awl so theres no clear winner .

My longest Multitool relationship was with the original Wave , solved the awl problem by taking the grinder to one of the many screwdrivers . Still and all , the wave wasn't a patch on the Spirit .

Most of us would probably agree that a Spirit with a pocket clip and one hand opening would be the ultimate multi .

I would argue that it would probably be the most popular multitool on the forum .But after those changes they could hardly still call it a Spirit .

LOL!  No, then everyone argue about the size of one hand opening hole on Spirit Vs Wave and/or how much the pocket clip bends at the end or something like that.  LOL...it's fun!

While not wanting to start any peeing matches , I have owned just about every credible multi since the early (@1984) PST on up to most of the current offerings . I now only have three plier based multi's . 2 Spirits ( original and X ) , and a Swisstool RS .I don't see this changing anytime soon .

All the others have either been gifted to others , or pitched in disgust ( ie:Gerbers ) .

First I would say I do own a Spirit, and like it.   But it does'nt see much use. Most of the time I carry a gerber 600 bluntnose. On the weekends usually a Charge TTI.   I'm not saying they are better  than the Spirit, just that they suit my needs better.
So IMO no MT is the Best. There are a lot of good tools out there .       No matter how much the swiss lovers around here preach that the Spirit is the best it does'nt make it true. IMO

I agree 100%. The best tool is the one that best suits a person's given needs and intended situations. Determining those factors can be a very complicated business and is why most of us spend so much time here yapping.

I can understand having fanboy debates akin to arguing about whether Batman could beat Spider-man in a fight (He couldn't BTW), they don't really mean anything.

If I had my druthers, I'd say the best tool is the Wirit or a Spave, because there are aspects of both the Spirit and Wave that I like and dislike.  :P

I like that  :tu: and very true in my case . The Wave is the best work EDC ( For me ) but the Spirit gets alot of use at home and is never far away from me .

Folks need to stop worrying which is the best tool and start thinking which is the best for THEM .You can love more then one tool at a time .

Gasp!!!  Are you suggesting (gulp) MT polygamy!!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh And incidentally, depending on which incarnation of spyderman and batman we're talking about, Spiderman would so kick his butt!

Slagging off someone's kit is all good fun . We are lucky to have access to all these great tools at a price an average working stiff can afford . If it wasn't for differing opinions , why Forums at all ?

I tend to carry my Spirit mon-fri as I like how easy it is too pocket carry & it has an awl & scissors.
I find the scissors a bit frustrating in their limited opening & it would be nice to have a larger blade , but I do like the MT as a package. I also keep a late model PST in my locker at work with the bit extension kit that came with my Core  ;).One persons 'greatest MT in the world' is an-others 'biggest piece of excrement '.I do own a lot more LM's than any other brand , but I am also more than happy with the Vics , Gerbers & Bears that I own.

TBH I have not come across any truly terrible MT's , they are all pretty good IMHO.
