I got my first Spirit a couple of years ago. Had it for a couple of days, but really didn't like the combi edge blade. Loved everything else about the tool. Returned to the dealer.

Then, I found the X. Just had to get a couple.

Wasn't a fan of the sheath that came with the Spirit. Would have liked it better if it had a snap fastening, or larger velcro patch. Hence, the use of 2 Leatherman Wave sheaths.

I was also slightly dissappointed with both blades. They were bit dull. Easily sorted on the sharpmaker though.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Those blades on the X look pretty cool. I'm still drawn to the Pnut butter knife however. It's obviously not good for any kind of puncturing cut but works great for any slicing  :)

I really got on with the butter blade.  I had reservations but for me it turned out good.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I owned a Spirit for quite a while , and didn't press it into service due to the Butterknife , boy was I wrong . I would never carry a serrated dedicated folder , but I like serrations on a multi , for dirty jobs like fibreglass banding tape etc.

The Spirit is pure class!
Once you feel it...you will know.

An elegant tool, if you will.

It reminds me much of Obi Wan's discussion with Luke...

Light sabre...this was the weapon of a jedi...an elegant weapon for a more civilized age...

albeit "tool"...it fits the description perfectly...imho

Hey guys,
I've had a Spirit X for over a year now, and I've not once have I had any issues with it's performance or it's weight.. You can either EDC it in your back pocket or on a belt quite comfortably I might add.

The only thing I would say in the negative is that I'mnot a big fan of the scissors and the sheath, although it's of reported European quality I'm just not a big fan of velcro so I would have preferred a snap but we can't have everything huh?

Cheers,
Serge

I'm afraid that this is my resignation from the club. My spot goes to another member who should appear in this thread soon.

That would be ME!

 :multi:

I'm now the priud owner of a previously enjoyed Spirit.

I'm a huge fan of SAKs so this is a great multi for me.  So solid and well built.  I look forward to seeing what she can do.

Ugh, gotta learn how to type...

BTW, how does one sharpen these scissors?  They really don't open very wide, quite unexpected.

Erm, are you sure? There was only 1 in stock last time I checked, and I ordered that Spirit X a few days ago (although I just sent the payment this morning)...  :-\

Yeah don't worry mate, Tim's shop always seems to show only one item in stock no matter how many he has. :)

You must've bought his last one, he has no more X's in stock! Funny enough I just ordered my first Spirit as well, I love my Kick but I miss that Swiss quality and the SAK-like blades- outside opening tools will be a plus too. Thanks to Raptor man I have a Spirit S in black oxide headed my way. I  :mail: this morning and there was nothing there yet- I shall continue to  :mail: daily until I get my lovely new  :multi:

Amici,
If you're not happy with the stock sheaths offered by Vic for your Spirit, I have recently purchased a Maxpedition 4" flashlight sheath for mine, and it fits perfectly.. Although Maxpedition offers a variety of sheaths mostly for tactical purposes, this model would work perfectly for those who want a traditional secure sheath for their Spirit..

It came today! I LOVE this thing! I wondered how much bigger than a Leatherman Kick it would be (my idea of an ideal size multitool- but I figured you couldn't squeeze the Spirit's tools all in and keep it that slim). I was elated to discover that dimensionally it is basically identical to a Kick!!! So in case no one else has drawn that comparison, I will- it's like a Kick only with the toolset of the Blast, and all the tools are accessible without opening the pliers! My only question is, why didn't I buy one sooner? :D
