I am now the proud owner of a Vic Spirit regular model.  My butter knife blade has been smoothed out, so it is not serrated.  I really like it.  The closest multi that I own that I can compare it to is my Leatherman Wave.  I like the solid feel of the Vic Spirit and the locking system.  This is one nice multi tool.

Spirit and Spyderco...excellent combination of simple, functional, quality tools. I like the way you think sir  :salute:

I feel kinda bad reading this thread again- I haven't touched my beloved Spirit in a long time. It's developed a kind of negative memory attached to it now (my ex paid for it). Keep wondering if I should sell/trade it.

LMAO. I've used that Metroid avatar for years because every time I change it on some forum or another, somebody yells at me for it lol. I'm just sick of looking at it, so I decided to change it up with a different video game related one. It's a part of a larger project of setting up a new online identity. I'm in the process of merging various E-mail accounts into a single new one, changing to new passwords (I had my yahoo account get hacked a while back so thought it'd be a good idea to change everything), etc. etc. Just trying to get everything up to date and streamlined so to speak since my online identity has gotten to be a complete mess over the last decade and has getting to be a smurf to manage.

I know a lot of people have come to identify me by the Metroid, but I've used it so much for so long I'm just tired of it. Been playing a lot of Sonic Adventure lately, and have always been a Sonic fan, so figured he was a good choice for a replacement, especially as he's still an old school video game reference so it relates to the old one. Like the old one, I did the work on him (sorta) myself. I kinda ripped off someone elses work from Deviantart, cut out most of the image, did some editing to get it looking nice and dark and sinister, then resized the whole thing for an avatar. Hopefully the original artist won't mind lol (it was listed as up for grabs so I didn't see an issue).

I really need to change my email addresses as well, but I would have to update my blackberry and a whole bunch of logons. Maybe I will. I wonder if there is any way to sync my post count here with a new MT.o logon?  That way I could change my username to match my forum name. Def?  :D

I guess I can get used to sonic TBF

Well, as of today I am now a 2x member of this elite group!  :D

Liked the 1st one so much, I went back for a second.  Now I have one for each vehicle.  Pics to follow, hopefully tomorrow.

Well, here are my two Spirits.  The newest one has the older style plus sheath that doesn't have a slot for the corkscrew.  No big deal, although I do like the eyeglass screwdriver.  I'll probably try to find a flathead 1/4" bit that can work as one.

Also, the last pic shows some stainless steel rulers I picked up for cheap.  I plan on cutting them down so they will fit in the sheath.  No more rulerless Spirit!

3 week progress report:

Well, I really like this thing.  I haven't had the chance to truly test its limits, but it has handled myriad everyday tasks with ease.

Just the other day we used the saw to trim the lower branches from our Christmas tree to fit in the stand.  Then used the pliers to put hooks on the new ornaments and twist them so they won't come back off.

Great tool!  :multi:
