Hmmm, I believe the Spyderco story isn't quite like that so I wouldn't necessarily take the rest as facts either.

Jeez that stuff is ludacris. Bali-Song is thier word. I dont care if you take the hyphen out. Spyderco and them both settled. and the other stuff is just bomb throwing.

Anyone know the detail of that? The only thing spyderco will say is "benchmade and us have came to an agreement..."

I like how the presenter says what Airborne Rangers and Marines should consider for "combat"...I doubt he himself is in the military in ANY capacity, so where does he get off saying Rangers/Marines should only carry a "heavy large fixed blade"

On top of that, the guy is a pothead; "...most useful plant ever known to mankind, cannibus hemp".. you ever hear of TREES? Benchmade doesn't want people who smoke pot to work for them, that's their business and I actually support that position.

Sounds like 100% bull from someone who has a lot of time on his hands and a grudge.

Methinks it has something to do with Benchmade cutting out a lot of distributers in an attempt to enforce MSRP .

Actually, he was foolish enough to publish the Case filing. What it's EXACTLY about is that he's selling cheap chinese copies of Benchmites (tm) with "USA Stainless Knife" on the package, using Benchmade's logo and inferring that they are the same quality of knife. He's selling non-Benchmade Bali-songs (tm) and confusing the origin. He's also selling modification kits to convert knives to automatic, infringing on other Benchmade patents. He's also claming he's a Benchmade factory authorized reseller, which Benchmade says he is not.

I don't care about his politics, the herb he smokes, or his military background or lack thereof. If the accusations in the filing are true (and you can see that they most likely are, given his website) then Benchmade deserves relief and they should take him to the cleaners. Treble.

I think most of us here at mt.org have the same views of counterfeits.

Some of the original 13 States (or maybe 13 Colonies) had the inscription "Counterfeiting is Death" on their money.

IIRC, I've seen pics of paper money from that era with that inscription.

Counterfeiting was only one of many capital crimes back then.

What I find really find on that page is the logo. You see how that guy sticks two fingers up? That's because this is his second attempt at "defrauding a large opponent". His first target was/is paypal and there the logo has only one finger sticking up (guess which one...

Mick is a hell of a nice guy , and makes a very good folder , no comment on the stories going the rounds . I have no direct knowledge , and the accounts vary pretty wildly . I have seen the original products the LT knocked off . Both use some off the wall marketing tactics . Cold Steal at one time had/and contracted for some good quality products , lots of their stuff now is just wacked . I don't want to see this crap get off the ground around here . Buy what you like , I will happily buy from Mick , but not LT .
