One of the advantages of it being so cheap, if it turns out crap no big loss.

It is very true but probably not the best mindset for any purchase.

On the other hand if read varied reviews and spend a bit of money it could be the best knife you ever buy just like Mike's one

I was going to go down the cheap machete road until I got some advice not to. Better to spend a few quid more for a quality, long lasting product than waste money on something nasty; I'm glad I did
