Can't go wrong with a spyderco no matter what model :tu: Para 3 is an awesome knife. When I get my next Spydie it'll either be Para 3 or Manix 2

Getting to this point has been a struggle for me, if I don't use the knife it becomes a mental millstone around my neck......money wasted.

I've been bashing myself up for months trying to decide between a HAP40 Cally and the mid-back lock Manix.  I'm ga-ga for that Manix, but the S30V is not "special" enough for me  and I suspect it would be to big....

That roll is perfectly filled by the Pac Salt...... :salute:

The Caly with the green handle is very pretty, and I suspect if I ever had it in hand, I might have chosen it.  I suspect it's a bit heavy for the size.......and really too pretty to be a user.

Then recently this grey handle popped out at me.....

Honestly never thought any of the Para's would end up in my stable, will be my first and only compression lock I guess.  Size I know if perfect for what I prefer to carry....which I still find strange considering my size  With Spyderco you can safely assume the ergos will be good....  :salute:

After doing some research (thank you Michael Christy  & co  :salute: ) I realised CruWear ticks just about all the boxes I could want check.......super tool steel and a user.....

Also.......strangely cheap for a super steel sprint run.

I handled a Para 3 at the factory. Sweet knife.

I've got big hands and prefer the ergos of the Para 2 or even the Military. But then you end up with a big knife, which is not the point of the Para 3.

The Manix 2 has ergos similar to the Para's, but if forced to chose, I'd go with the Para's (again, a big hands issue). I also prefer the compression lock to the ball-detent lock. For me the compression lock is just a tad easier to manipulate.

As far as steel goes, CruWear is good stuff and Spydoe does a great job with it. I've got a Military in Cru and it's great. But, at this point, S30V seems to have become my default steel. As I really like it.

The Manix below has S90V steel, but I don't have enough experience with it to have an opinion, yet. Zero complaints so far, though. The PM3 is sporting S30V.

Awesome! When I have about $115 saved for a new folder. The Para 3 is on the top of the list! Even though I could get a Benchmade or a ZT for that price...It still wouldn't be Spyderco lol

Well, I have huge hands but I prefer smaller knives......let's hope the ergos work or it'll be a very expensive mistake....

Studying the 2019 catalog I realised there is one more Spyderco I'll have to buy......the Native 5 Salt   :woohoo:
