Oooh, I just noticed the little stakey marks around the pivot on Neil's old pliers. Looks the same as those on early Leatherman PST's, if I'm not mistaken. :)

Ahh, forgive me for using such technical terms Tony ;)

Yes, take a look at how the marks on Neil's pliers appear to be just like the ones on this early PST that Dennis photographed. (bottom tool) They both have a very similar pattern around the pivot area. Must be the means of 'staking' the pivot pin (so it doesn't fall out) was the same for both tools back then. :)

Ignore Bob and his "official" answer ::)

Stakey marks can be found on any old tool that drew blood after assembly.  The stakes were driven into the heart of the tool to prevent any further vampiric tendencies :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I just asked my wife if she knew what an Estwing might be, sadly she didn't know. :(

That's got to be one of the sorriest looking hammers I've ever seen Tony, hopefully you'll be able to bring it back up to working speed.  Tell your brother he's not allowed to own an Estwing until he knows what it is and appreciates it. ;)
