I picked these up today  :)

1, Granton Knife, made in Sheffield
With brass pins and I think a rose wood handle, On the blade it says  “RE.SHARPEN on a STEEL”

2, VINERS LTD SHEFFIELD (by appointment to the late King George V) looks like someone has tried to sharpen it on a brick  ::)

3, Can't read the logo but ROSTFREI is stamped in to the tang
This thing is 3mm thick and built like a tank  >:D

4, A cheap series Sabatier with a an 8 inch blade

5, Another cheap series Sabatier with a 3 ½ inch blade

6, And a lovely GED. WOSTENHOLM & SON SHEFFIELD ENGLAND (maybe) butter knife that someone has used as a screwdriver and taken a chunk out of the blade  :twak:

Off and on, when I've read other threads of interest, I've come back to this thread, and finally, at long last... I've finished catching up. So, my thoughts.

Oh GOD... SOOO much RUST! :D

In another thread, I complained about the rust on the handle of a kitchen knife. Sparky, you're right. That wasn't really rusty. It was, frankly, pathetic, compared to the stuff here. The awesome recovery of some of these tools is amazing, and I salute you who would undertake such tasks.  :salute:

Also, you understand that my husband thinks I'm crazy for buying good, new(ish) shiny things, right? We didn't have a standard wedding, and I'm pretty sure he had a 'ditch her if she goes bat-poo crazy' clause. He's pretty thorough that way.

Me: Honey, can I have $20 to go buy rust with?
Him:

I sent an Email to Granton Knives this morning (still in Sheffield and still making knives )

http://www.granton-knives.co.uk/

They said it was made before the mid 50s as the knives after that with rosewood handles with 3 brass rivets.

Thanks Laura.   :salute:

Looks like a knife for cutting thin slices of fish to me. “Lachsmesser” in German, salmon knife, salmon slicer or something like that in English?

Everyone needs a good bread knife and that looks like a good bread knife :tu:

We were actually given a bread maker by a lady at a car boot a few weeks back. She had failed to sell it and just didn't want to take it home.  Nothing wrong with it at all.

However, doing the maths as far as ingredients and energy goes you seem to be as well off just buying your loaf from the shop  :-\

We did take it for a spin though and it wasn't a bad little loaf that came out.

@Mat and Steinar
I have always called these ham knives but I must admit this one is huge

@Neil,
I have often thought about those bread makers but it would just end up in the cupboard with the sandwich toaster, slow cooker etc etc  ::)

I agree with Neil about the cost involved with a bread maker. However Tony a slow cooker is great just throw the stuff in it in the morning and eat when you get home. Also only the one pot to wash up!

I really like the idea of the bread maker but we know where it will end up in a few weeks time

I missed a really really big one last weekend (think they all waited until I had left the county  :twak:)

Slow cooker...... Mmmmm wonder what happened to the lid and pot?

My new bread knife might be up for trade if anyone really likes it  ;)

Yeah, pretty much/exactly the same thing as a salmon slicer. Thin slices of something soft that has a tendency to stick to the blade. Where I live just has the tendency to make me think of fish before ham. :D

Knife, as I suspect from a set, judging by the markings on the handle.
I guess that the kit should include another fork, spoon, can opener or tin key.
Stamp of the company allegedly Kiev.

Next, the kitchen knife format in form similar to the cheese, with a fork at the tip of the blade, and small teeth, which is strange, as such, no sharpening, can be assumed that the sharpening
the owner? Or a knife for cutting :)
Stamp of the Kharkov plant "Metalist". At a red plastic handle which is found on the handle of some models of folding knives of this plant. Price hot stamp affixed to the handle.

Knife from  Czechoslovakia, the firm "Mikov". The handle is plastic, decorated with a horn.
Blade of the triple wedge, stainless steel.

Wrench, small size, I had this, I posted his photo. then gives way to on the knife.
That caught the second time, marking placed a little differently and has a price, 60 k.
Stamp of the Leningrad tool plant expected.

razor-strop stretched on a frame with tension adjustment system.

That sounds fair enough so the size of this knife tells me its a shark knife  :tu:
