It appears you can ;)

I quite like that design but I always worry about the longevity of printed designs on SAKs that are regularly used and carried.

I had that worry too. I carry my Micra in a pocket with my keys. I wouldn't feel right doing that with this one. I do like the soft scale though

They get white, dirty white. :D Here are pics of my first SAK ever, a Wenger Commander (Snife Waves) after a few years of pocket carry (age 12-15) compared to a new one from Chako. So if you intend on carrying it, do it in a pouch of some sort. It would be a shame to loose that nice pattern.

Well darn, lol. That sure isn't attractive. If it wore to just black that'd be better. I better look for a pouch. Or you guys will just make me end up buying a normal scale tinker instead  :ahhh

Finally got some 84mm scissors... all I need is some extra funds and time before this one is reborn.

An 84mm Golfer:

Neverused, you just got that off eBay? If so, I think was bidding against you. *laughs* Don't worry about it, I got a box today with a well used Golfer (badly scared, sharpened a lot, the sheild is gone, but the scissors are good), a Spartan, and yet another Huntsman.

Nice! Did you buy it off eBay recently? I may have posted a pic of that very same knife.
Do you know which country it was?
I doubt this is the one you saw on eBay recently. It was a couple months back that I picked this one up. Saudi Arabia is the country they specifically mentioned in their email but they did mention there was another design for a different country done recently. Here are the links to the 2 designs Victorinox sent me.
Saudi Arabian Market design since 1989--http://b2b.victorinox.ch/A219/Victorinox_Globe_Emblem.jpg
Alternate design used since 2009 not sure which market area, maybe same country-http://b2b.victorinox.ch/A219/Victorinox_Eagle_Emblem.jpg

Here are both newer shields on knives made for the middle eastern market. I think its on 84mm and 74mm knives.

Thanks for the view of the bird logo; hadn't seen it before. However I think it's a dove with an olive branch in its beak rather than an eagle.

Here's a recently acquired Hudson's Bay Spartan. Originally tried to buy it from Hudson's Bay Company, only to be told they didn't sell outside of Canada. Then lucked onto it on ebay. Kind of hard to tell from the photo but the main blade is marked "Hudson's Bay Company - EST 1670"

Yes it did. A few minor scratches on the Hudson Bay. The Champion is a bit rough, with the tip of the main blade bent; will go into the users box or maybe the car.

OK, I guess it could be. However it is Victorinox that posted that photo on their website with the Eagle name. Look closely at the url name for the Victorinox image.

This is a quiet old logo used by Victorinox often on Kitchen knives. It's an eagle. A Swiss Alps Eagle ;)

I have an old counter-top display with that design (hadn't seen it before on a knife), and it always looked like a dove to me. Guess my eyes are going along with everything else.

Karl

By the way the Canadian Classic looks neat.

Bought a old style Champion at the San Jose flea market today for 20.00 nice condition  except for the small pen blade and the scales. I have a nice pen blade  and scales to put on it.

That San Jose Flea Market is big 1,500 booths on Sunday. We had a good time there. On the way home we stopped and ate at a place we saw on Man Vs Food on TV the place is called Iguanas home of Burritozilla.

Not a SAK but the book published by Victorinox 'The history of the knife' 1984 to celebrate the centenary of Victorinox. I have attached a copy of the letter inserted in the book from the Elsener family.

It should rest well with the rest of my modest collection. IMHO collecting SAKs is not only the knives themselves, but paraphernalia associated with Victorinox & Wenger

Here's a couple unusual versions of what is probably my favorite knife - the Motorist. The first one is from the late 1960s, and is different because of the bail. Very few Motorists actually have key ring attachments (ironically):

The next unusual version is this - early 1970s variant with the standard Elinox shield on the front, and St Christopher inlaid on the rear scales:
