Hi Reinier i am pleased i am not the only one, with more than one Gardener. They are just such a great knife to use, and sharpen. I have 4 SAKs now, i think i am about to cross the line from user, to collector. Lucky for me they are small, so i get them in the house wthout the wife seeing.

Actually, those 2 came with another SAK that I bought. I was never very interested in those Gardeners but I have been using the black one in my garden and it's actually a pretty useful knife! It's quite heavy though since it has brass liners (the red one is a bit lighter).

Time for a shock!!
I'm going back to my Vic OH Fireman lockblade SAK!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Why?  It has to do with my future trip to Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines.

 In a conversation with a FB friend, who's involved with bushcraft/wilderness survival community in the island of Cebu.  He told my the OH lockblade would be far more practical than my Leatherman :o  Perfect for bushcraft/survival needs, open cans/bottles, more resistance to rust, perfect for self defense,easier to replace if lost,,,,and(unlike my leathermans) my SAK won't end up disappearing in the pocket(s) of the customs official at Manila Airport. :think:

I wonder what my philippines colleagues here think about what my friend said.   :think: :think: :think: :think:
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
 Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
 And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

I bought two SAKs at Big Five on clearance yesterday. A Wenger Commander for 10.00 and a Pocket Tool Chest for 15.00.

I went to the Victorinox shop today to get some parts and have a look around and fell in love with this....
It was quite strange for me to buy a Victorinox brand new..

I have many, many more SAK's than pliers based MT's.

My SAKs outnumber my MTs by a fair margin, though the multis are stating to catch up. SAKs are my first love though.
