Today I was spending the day with my brother and mother going out buying some last christmas presents and enjoying a wonderful saturday. While walking around, we came by a small knife shop. One of those small old shops being worked by a family over generations. Naturally, as my brother and me are SAK nuts, it didn't take us any time to decide to go in. Let me tell you, this was one of the sweetest days recently.

We discovered several Wenger knives in there sitting around for years, seemingly just waiting for us to pick them up.
So today I scored, brand new, an Evolution S10, Evolution S17, EvoGrip S557 and a complete Patagonian Set (The WPER): EvoGrip 81, EvoGrip S18 and RangerGrip 179.

No images yet, but some will come soon.

The package came in the mail this afternoon.

To my surprise I found a green Wenger Commander alongside the Wenger Ranger W120 Century I asked for.

Both have been used, they are in need of (a little) cleaning and sharpening but they're fine.

I'll have pics tomorrow.

Thanks, Carlo!

......

The Patagonian Set (in yellow right?) are great - I have the set too kinda by accident - All bought at different times!
I love the Wenger yellow SAKs

The S18 has become my EDC and I love it - Perfect size and tool set for urban/weekday EDC.

One word of caution on that though - The laser etched image in the rubber grips has worn off on my S18.
Just a microscopically thin layer to the depth of the image - the rubber grips are still fine.

@ Murraydan
Is that a Cadet or Soldier sized SAK? Looks like a Cadet! Is it a mod or catalogue model? (too lazy to check the Wiki!!)

And can you tell us please - what is the story/image in your avatar?

@ Peacent
Thanks for all the pics
I love bringing back used and abused SAKs to their former glory
So do you have two models the same now? - Original Spirit (aka XC) w scissors/butter blade
Shame you did not pick up a different model - eh?

Hi cali and Mech,

Several earlier orders from Swiss Tool in the UK went fine. This one is a mess. The first knife went missing, and the company wouldn't answer my emails. 50-ft trad was nice enough to get on their case and get them to send a replacement (Thanks again!). The second knife is still listed as being at Heathrow awaiting foreign shipment (for over two weeks). It may be the Christmas rush, but incompetence and dishonesty are not ruled out. One of the knives may show up sometime, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's an 84mm Cadet Plus, and it's an official Victorinox model.

I've been an extreme metal guitarist, the upside down cross comes with the territory. To me, it's a symbol of anti-establishment… 'Non serviam'

Aha - Thanks for the reply -
I was wondering if it was something like that  ;)

Yes, they are ofc all yellow :)
I am not too much troubled about the possibility of it wearing off, as I actually just bought them as collectibles.
I prefer the S17 over she S18 because I lke to have a corkscrew nd do not fancy the backside philips anyway.
Also, as the models which I would like to use are now also made by vic, actually all my Wengers are collectables and my users are Vic Delemont ones.

Basilio sold me this Wenger Ranger W120 Century, and threw in a green Wenger Commander for good measure.

The Century will be my working day carry next season, replacing the Fireman.

Thanks, Carlo!

I also thought I might be lucky in that regard, but that feeling disappeared when I saw the complete toolset. But:

(Image removed from quote.)

a. The tool was begging to be rescued and away from that owner
b. You can't have enough Spirits, can you? It's like the tool to have a double of, like having two Classics or two Waves
