Thanks all!

I keep the Christmas spirit alive by not going anywhere near a mall between Thanksgiving and mid-January.

Me too!!
Just got this, NIB Victorinox Special Mechanic (also known as the Junior Mechanic) :  http://www.sakwiki.com/ti...php?page=Special+Mechanic

I could have got one without the advertising on the scales, but think it actually looks even better like this!

It's a little thinner than a Climber/Super Tinker, so still very pocket-able despite the thick pliers layer:

What's in the sheath?

...

It's the Wenger PocketGrip!  :ahhh

Very fast delivery, Ronald Schröder shipped it to me yesterday!

A quite curious tool if you ask me, this traditional styled red SAK with its pliers and the bit holder that's integrated in the metal casing of the pliers.

I think the design of the bit holder is by far more superior when compared to the backside and inline screwdrivers or when compared to the inline bit holder of a Cybertool (which I don't have). I think with the PocketGrip much more torque can be applied without risking to damage the SAK.

Happy to be able to add this one to the collection!
Thanks Ronald!

That's an interesting toolset, thought it was a Yeoman for a minute like my Syph mod, but it's something different. What's on the backside, apart from the corkscrew, an awl?

Like those scales on the Vic!
Is the blade on the Wenger black? Or is that just light/shadow effect?

Saw, an awl, right? So it's a bit like my Yeoman, but with the (stronger) cap lifter instead of the combo tool, also gains the pen blade, but loses the the inline Phillips. interesting!

Here's mine for comparison:

I love the brass magnifier on these!

Thanks, mate. Yeah it's a blackout model. Am a big fan of these out of production Wenger pieces. I try to get them if I can afford them. Hehe

You are correct it has an awl, I didn't even know it!
Yes, I love the brass magnifier on it and have already used it a few times.  :tu:

Here's a used one I bought about a week earlier, but it is on its way to Canada for a spa day.
