And so, i finally got my very first Alox  :D
I bought it because i wanted at least one Alox (even tho i prefer regular Cellidor 91mm ones for EDC), and mainly because of it's very slim compared to the regular cellidor classic i carry with my keys, and replaced it with this one.
I also want to buy a pioneer, just for the sake of having one, and to carry whenever i go hiking in the woods  ;)

The small blade is gonna need a little grinding, and a good scales buffing, but I finally bought an inlay-version Camping Ranger to go with my printed 2005+ Camping Ranger.

This one is definitely used but I'm not displeased at $13.38 shipped. Version 2 metal file, screw, fluted.

My other Ranger is all modern style tools.

New black alox Pioneer Zebra. Sort of an ersatz Damascus Pioneer, which I doubt I'll ever get.

Good deal!  You got the knife at a good price plus a chance to recondition it.  I've recently acquired some older SAKs (NOS) (one with inlay) and have been tempted to go after a beautiful vintage model with bail.  My better judgement tells me to stick with the random inlay model and stay away from the slippery slope of vintage purchases.   :)

And what does your heart say? I think it longs for a few bails and maybe even some exposed rivets.

The shining samples I have seen pictured look spectacular!  When I start to think how nice they would look in a nice display, I remember the plaque my long departed aunt had hanging in her home: "A boat is a hole in the water into which one pours money!" (my uncle was a boat nut and went through a number of boats). I've had a few hobbies over the years that qualified as holes into which pours money.  Better to focus on enjoying the toys I have!

There's also a gold alox Giraffe. Believe they were originally done for South Africa.

Thanks for sharing!
