I'm likin' that technicians SD.

So as you may remember from a few days back, oooo, ahhh CT41 for $50, well looka dis.

All tools in good shape. Nothing twisted, chipped or bent. No dents in blade and looks like the original (but dull) edge. So how did this even happen? Blade layer spring is snapped at the middle pin.

Not that big a deal in the long run, a very common spring, biggest hassle is thinning down the 2.5mm rod for the smaller pins. But pretty weird.

Scissors work smooth, which is always a nice surprise on rivet scissors. All tools good actually.

Scales came off pretty easy and have no pin or pen slot, so not original. Wondering if I should reinstall them or use the set of plain red Plus scales I have in the parts bin...

Hi, JameJ!

Good purchase as you seem able to address the broken spring issue.  At this point, the only broken spring that I would be able to fix is a scissors spring replacement.  :)

After getting two CT-34s & two CT-29s, I am very likely to use the CT-29 more since at 3 layers, it fits nicely in my other pocket.  Still, that probably won't keep me from adding the CT-41 and CT Lite at some point.

Looking forward to hearing about the repair!

Deluxe Tinker and Midnite MiniChamp, both bought used on eBay, and both now my EDC knives.

The MiniChamp goes in my pocket and the Deluxe Tinker in a small EDC belt pouch.  Aside from the two scissors and two bottle openers, there is very little tool overlap.

I may have jumped the gun tonight...

I was checking on items that I was following on e-bay when I ran across a BSA SAK with magnifier.  My brain should have told me it was an Explorer but one of the photos had "Yeoman" on the box.  Once again, my "Buy-it-Now" reflex engaged before my brain in my haste to purchase it before it was snatched up by someone else.  Usually, I scrutinize my purchase thoroughly prior to committing.  At the worse, I have another Explorer and a BSA version to boot!  For better or worse, this was purchased tonight:

There is an article link at the bottom of the Sakwiki Yeoman page...  at some point the Explorer was marketed as the BSA Yeoman in the US...

Thanks, Jaya_man!

After seeing some of your posts, I am starting to think of you as a goldmine of information!

At last, I have a Yeoman--even if it is a 4 layer knife that functions exactly like an Explorer!  :)

Actually, your information confirms that my new purchase was not mis-represented.

Thank you!!!

Thanks!  Someone pointed out that it sports and Eagle Scout emblem.  I never was a scout but I have heard that the Eagle Scout is scouting's highest rank.

Feeling better about this purchase!

An alox huntsman with pruner blade made for me by tattoosteve.  :tu:
It's a perfect outdoors edc for me and a good partner for my urban edc of a Syph007 alox explorer.

I. Love. This.

Awesome work.

Really like seeing peened 93's. Torx is great but so commonplace any more. This looks like a factory model. :tu:

For me I'd probably have the pruner or electrician blade in place of the can opener and have the awl across from the large blade.

I may try this some day when I can afford to buy all the knives for parts.

Snagged a new unused Dutch Army Knife (KL92 alox soldier). I already have one of these alox DAK's but this thing was so cheap I had no other choice than to buy it  :ahhh

Will arrive tuesday :)
