Is it the one I sold you?
If so, glad to see it arrived safely!
I think that the information I put on EDC Source, Golfer II (1.3608), should be pretty much correct, according to the research I made on this forum.

Yes Basilio turned up this morning - lovely knife and has a great feel to it. Ohh I just looked up the Golfer dohhh ;) lol.

I also love the Vic badge on the older scales as its raised - gives it move of a quality feel to it. :)

The newest and the oldest.

The newest is the book 'Le Couteau Du Soldat Suisse', by Thierry Deladoey. Rather pricey, but it paid for itself immediately by positively identifying the oldest knife in my collection.

The knife is the 1901 variant of the 1890 Soldier's knife, with red pressed fiber handles rather than the original black wood handles. The knife was made by 'Coutellerie Suisse' (Wenger) and has the three-faced triangle logo. Instead of the normal cross on the handle the knife is marked with a date, 1904, and a name, 'Anton Z.', possibly an inspector; and probably indicating that the knife was for commercial sale rather than official issue.

85 Vic Soldier. No pix ATM as she's relaxing in a bath of wd40 :ahhh

I really should have taken a picture of the before...

On top of needing an oil bath, the tip of the blade had been broken off,and the cutting edge all but gone, plus there's some superficial damage to the edges of the scales.heres how she's currently looking

There'll be a full thread about this old soldier soon...

I got my copy of the book today also.  I'm super happy to have it, but technically it is very expensive for the material it contains.  I suspect it sort of has to be though based on how many copies they can expect to sell.  If they would have made it an ebook they probably could have charged a lot less since they would not have had as much upfront expenses.  Still I like paper books so I'm happy.  I'll probaly have to buy another copy when they improve the English translation and add more material.

I don't think there is any basic information that is not already well known and/ore contained in Brunner's Knife Magazine article, or in his other papers.  The tang shots though are very nice to have.

I'd like to see the other book on the Soldier Knife "100 Years" or something like that.

I know of another book in progress, but I'm not sure it makes sense to publish that, now that this one is out.  It has more basic background information I believe, but I'm not sure that's enough.  Of course if it has great photos, then it might still get published and I think it might be a bit less expensive as well.

Always great to have a new SAK book.

This beat-up Princess; the other side of the scales are melted, and the blade is out-of-alignment at the tip no doubt due to it being used as a fine screwdriver (I straightened it a bit).  I bought it just because a week a go I posted a much newer knife with the same advertising, so I figured I had to have this one for a pair.

Here's a different one for me.  Its a yeoman++ (+ metal saw/chisel layer and + fishscaler!)  Yes thats right... the fishscaler!  Its actually decent as a ruler and the thinnest layer that exists on a 91, so it doesn't add much girth.  Recently someone said it made a good impromptu fork and I can see that too.

Pics.. :D  :tu:
