Best SAK to part out.  Scissors, combo and plus scales are all in demand parts.   Every other model (unless its an on sale swiss champ) doenst part out as nice.

Got it. Plus scales are readily available separately, but adding the pen, T&T and pin adds up, especially the pen. The scissors can also be found on the cheaper Climber. But for the combo tool there aren't other more economical choices. And as a bonus the Compact gets that special nailfile hook (do these of yours come with that?). The only other drawback that I could think of: what do you do when the customer wants another scale color than red or black? :)

Wow - very nice. The Elsener on the bottom is one of the nicest 1891s I've seen. Almost always the blades have been heavily sharpened. They're tough to find with almost all of the main blade intact.

Is the middle knife an Elsener as well?

Soldier 1891... :D

It's radioactive?!

So it's a belt pouch carry, rather than pocket carry?

Yes uranium is very heavy so it's a bit of a load when it's in my pocket.

It has two ergonomic problems. One is the evogrip scales. I like the rubber texture and the yellow color but because they have a curved shape that extends past the backsprings, the back isn't completely smooth. Otherwise I really like them. The other ergonomic problem is the locking button. It sticks up and is just in the way. I chose the locking version though, so that's my fault. Otherwise it is all standard Wenger which I like. Overall this is an awesome knife.

I was wondering how the lock button was.  I noticed in pics that it appeared to stick out, but the knife was out in those pics, so I thought that may just be when the knife is deployed.  Does it still stick out even when it's closed?  And does it have the T-handle Phillips, or the corkscrew (I can't remember which it has)?

It sticks out all the time. It is a little in the way but if the lock is something you want, then I think it is still worth it. Just know what you want and what you're getting.

My personal taste is slipjoint, though I do appreciate that some others prefer knives to lock for whatever reason.

That aside, I have handled an 85mm Wenger with the pad-lock, and found it very uncomfortable. I was very aware of it when holding the knife (open and closed), and was very sheepish in unlocking the blade. I really don't like locks that need any part of the anatomy to be in/near the path of the blade ESPECIALLY when there's a backspring acting on it  :ahhh Even if I felt the need for a lock, I personally would be very unhappy with that particular locking arrangement. The real downer was that after that lock came out, there was no models with the in-line Phillips available over here that didn't have that lock  >:( Obviously somebody at Wenger thought that no-one who needed a Phillips driver would be able to operate the knife unless it locked  ::)

I have an almost identical knife, yet mine has a standard Vic small blade, where yours has the clip-point. My main blade snapped at the tang, and I transplanted in a Wenger main blade. Mine also has the square Philips, no nail file on it, but with the can opener slot milled in the end.
Got mine from where the TSA confiscated knives are sold, which makes me wonder: How unusual it must be for a 40+ year old knife to be owned all this time, only to be accidentally forgotten about in luggage on a recent trip by plane.

Between 68 and 72?

the NIB swisstool plus was a fleabay snipe and the price was just to good to pass on.  I also just got a 98' head swisstool at the fleamarket for dirt cheap so I had to pick it up too.  the mechanic was something I wanted for a while so when the price was right I got it.  someone added an all metal tweezers tho.  theyre neat but the definitely don't fit I guess ill keep them around.  the pioneer looked better in photos but there are some very worn areas.  brass key ring and liners and some ok coloring, I guess price wise Im happyish.
