I landed another GShock watch.  Should be here next week.  The first one should be here tomorrow.

My Schrade NaviTool came in today. It is the Taylor version, but the quality is fair.  :woohoo:

9-off 6" x 3" Micromesh MX sheets

I tried using regular grade Micromesh to polish a Sideclip, thinking regular would be up to the task, but it's really struggling - or at least, it's making me really struggle. After a little digging, I realised I need the MX version.

3-off 12" 24tpi hacksaw blades

I was sure I had some somewhere, but all I could find was Jr hacksaw blades. I only ordered three, as I don't know how well my neck will hold up to the job. I haven't really tried sawing anything since my spine started packing up.

10-off Fresnel lenses

After spending some time with an Explorer, I've come to the conclusion the field of view on the mag glass is far too restrictive for my needs. It made sense to order ten, as the whole package is only £1 including postage from China, and those lenses are easily damaged. I'll only bother moving the Phillips driver over to the planned 93mm mod.

Nice. Fresnel Lenses are great for magnifying and pack flat for an EDC pack.  :like:

Thanks, Max. I'll keep one in my wallet, and possible make up a leather pocket pouch for one too

Good call. They crack easily so back it with a stiff piece of plastic.

Jeep ownership is starting to feel a lot like Land Rover ownership

....should I expect big oil leaks on my driveway soon?

Thankfully my Jeep doesn’t have air controlled suspension....so it has the only difference......it actually works as a suspension!!!!

Anyway more parts on the way

And since they were stupidly cheap, I ordered more LED bulbs for different lights e.g. license plate, side markers etc.

I figured I’d give them a try and see how they look...if I don’t like them; I can always just change them back.

A Rough Riders Moose pattern in carbon.  Decided to go cheap to see if I like the pattern or not.  Doesn't help that there are not many options for this model in the midrange.

Nice one MMR it will be a new jeep soon  :like: :tu:

She has a long way to go to be anywhere near “new”, but I just want to make sure that everything that should work; works.

It’s a 1998, so 21 years old, and in 21 she has driven 325.000 km, and by the looks of things the last two owners didn’t take very good care of her.

The guy I bought it from, only had it for a few months and didn’t really do anything to her and the guy he bought it from has done some “bubba work” all over it, all of which I am now fixing.

But either way, she is a user and not a show queen, so she will never be perfect anyway

Exactly! :tu:

Plus working on ones own car is not only a good way of getting your mind off things and surprisingly satisfying, but also a good way of getting to know ones car better and understand it better, a great learning experience, which also gives a good overall knowledge of cars.

Especially helpful, if you have to take it to a garage to have some bigger jobs done to it, then you can explain it a lot better to the mechanic and thereby also prevent yourself from getting ripped off.

This has always been a big problem, not just with cars but also with IT. If they sense that you don’t know what you are talking about or don’t have much knowledge with in the field, they just see $dollar signs$ and flock at one like vultures!

Having worked in IT myself for over 10 years, I see this waaaaayyyy too often.

Sad world we live in!
