So I was in Home Depot today buying some paint and tile, and I went over to the MultiTool section and started poking around. Well, you know how HD is when they are not busy, you just have to start touching something, and 3 or 4 people start climbing over each others shoulders asking if you need help finding something.I found out a few things:Like Amazon, HD is not suppose to sell the Wingman until 10/15Every HD is suppose to have at least one Kick in stock at all timesMost stock at least the Wave too, just because it is so popularBecause the Kick is retiring, the Wingman will take it's place as the "at least one" toolThree things that I don't know:Will the price always be $24.97, or is that just an introductory price? Will the Kicks go on clearance on 10/15?What's in the HD warehouses for a LM Christmas special?
As a HD employee. Allow me to tell you how things operate at a Home Dumphole:-do something wrong, you might get in trouble-do something right, you WILL get in troubleMore doing, more incompetence,,,,,That's the power of the Home Depot!
This thread inspired me to see if I could order the Wingman online so it would be ready for pickup on the 15th. I ordered 2 last night and I got the confirmation that they were ready to pickup this morning. Since I needed to go to Sam's Club next door this morning I was excited. I got there and they could not find the Wingmans but they offered me an upgraded tool that cost more...the KICK. I politely told them that I appreciated their offer but the Kick did not have outside opening tools or scissors. The kid working behind the counter said they tried to call me but could not reach me...interesting because I had 2 calls from a phone number that turned out to be the local Home Depot but they never left a message. The kid said that was the way the store manager rolled....did not make much sense to him but. So the store manager happened by and he said they tried to call me to let me know.....I told him that maybe he should have a little talk to his people about phone etiquette since there was no message and when I called the number back all I got was a message. He offered to deliver the tools to my house as soon as they could find them. He did not know how soon they could find them but they would send them out on a truck when they could find them. He said they had the option of other tools in place of the Wingman like the kick....I told him the tools were gifts that I wanted to get shipped and any other outside opening tool would be acceptable and appreciated. Of course the only other tool with outside opening tools is the Wave. He looked for the Wingmans for about 10 minutes more and decided to give me 2 Waves for the same price as the Wingman.I just ordered 2 more from a different Home Depot....Bruce
I am going to HD right now to buy a Wingman my HD has 23 in stock.Mike
I drive by 2 Home Depots on my way to work. I think I'll stop in to see if they have the Wingman in stock. On a side note I work for Academy Sports+Outdoors and when I went in on Tuesday I noticed the Kick had all of the sudden dropped in price. I asked the store director why the price drop and she told me the cooperate office wanted to clear them out but she was not told why exactly. I'm hoping it's to make room for the new LM tools.

Got the notification it's ready for pickup! Will grab it tomorrow...
I stopped by a Home Depot that I saw on the way to a friend house. Nothing new just the Kick and Wave in stock.
Well i went to Home Depot to buy a Wingman they were in stock but they could not find them. So then i got the bright idea i would order and pay for one online for in store pickup at another HD that might force them to find me one. That HD could not find them ether but i did end up with a 25.00 wave.Mike
They are not listed at Homedepot.ca so I wonder if the Canadian stores are going to carry it? There are no Leathermans listed there at all, vs the 8 listed on the US site.Luckily though, they are both listed at MEC, although they are currently out of stock/unavailable.Def
...I didn't think it mattered to you guys! Def
MEC isn't known for being overly competitively priced. It's nice to see the new tools are at MSRP though. Even now older tools (and most products) are still priced at about 30-40% higher than US prices since our dollar was worth $.65-70US for years. Now that we are at par (more or less) our prices still seem to be as high as they used to be, which is frustrating to say the least.
Yes they will i ordered and payed for my Wingman online for in store pickup. An hour later a lady from HD called me and told me she could find one in stock. At first she told me she could upgrade me to Kick. I told her i wanted a tool with outside opening blades. Then she upgraded me to a 69.87 Wave for 24.97.Mike
