Thanks for the information.  I don't think there can be any copyright left on a published work over 100 years old, let alone a catalog from that date.  If it is a more recent reprint of the catalog contained in another publication what is the name of that publication?

My knife, carbon steel, with the red shield/white cross inlay has WENGER DELMONT with 3 faces logo on both the small and large blades which are in separate layers; both pivot at the top of the knife.  It has an interesting imprint on the bottom scale of some insect in an oval, hard to see now.

It's interesting that Wenger's 100 year anniversary book does not mention this shield.

Pictures when I have more time.

These are photos of a guenine Wenger & Co catalog and the source is verified and true. But these photos are copyrighted by a french forum and contains links to stores website.
I promised to Grant Lamontagne I will not post direct link nor photos with links. I'm sorry.

Mr Young says that the first knife in the page 43 photo is without doubt carbon steel with carbon steel liners and divider, and the second one stainless with nickle-silver liners and divider, and that the first one (tang stamp Wenger Delemont) measures just over 92 mm, the second one (tang stamp Wenger Tahara) 82 mm.
Wenger has said they made a model 112 with stainless steel starting in 1919.  Is there any documentation of an earlier date for stainless steel by Wenger (or  by Victorinox)?  Victorinox has given their date as both 1921 and 1923.
Would love to see the "insect in an oval" Wenger tang stamp !

Yes, I saw that, but mine (like the first on page 43) is stainless steel with nickel-silver liners without doubt too !
And I have another (is actually in repair so I have no photo) with stainless steel blades, carbon steel liners and a bail.

My first knife on photos (like the second one of page 43) is also stainless steel with stainless steel with nickel-silver liners.

So I think differents logos were produced over a same period of overlap and Wenger used both carbon steel and stainless steel for several knives on a same period.

I have no more information on the beginning of the use of stainless steel in Wenger brand and I think that the year 1919 mentioned in the book of M Young is probably true.

I will visit the Wenger factory in few days, I hope I will have more informations...

I would like to see the "insect in an oval" too and also the old tool (threaded drill bit) ! Could you post photos ?

I think you misread my post. The tang on mine "has WENGER DELMONT with 3 faces logo on both the small and large blades".

The 'insect in an oval' is just an imprint stamped into the bottom scale.

Pictures coming when I can.

Ah yes, you did say Bottom scale.
Wenger (make that Boechat) had some zany tang stamps and I got excited.

To just agree with both Francis and Chako, I would consider it an iconic failure:)
While you all probably know how much I'm in love with the Wenger brand, I must admit that they failed really hard on this.
Don't really know what they were thinking while developing this tool.
Chances that a businessman would need a mutitool on his desk are close to none, in my opinion.

I use my Wenger BT nearly every day!  It's actually quite functional! :ahhh

Maybe this has been asked and answered before, but does anyone if Wenger will do a final run of the Standard Issue knife?

I think no : the last run was in 2012 with a model without swiss cross shield (a copy of the first model 1961 of soldier knife but without "waffenkontrole"). It was a "bye bye" serie.

Only to EU countries, but you could ask them. The owner joined here 2 months ago to tell us about them so he must speak English too. ;)

Three quick pictures of this interesting knife.  I'm guessing this model would fall into their early Farmer/Peasant line.

Waoooooooo ! Very Nice !

For the "threaded drill bit", I don't know the english word but in french it's a "vrille", it was used to  make a small hole in the very hard wood before putting a screw, to facilitate the wiring accession.

Are the handles in black fibers ?

Thanks, that makes sense; the English word would be Auger, and explains why on some old knives it's designed more like a drill-bit than a course screw thread.

Yes the handles applear to be a black fiber.

After the heavy use this knife has seen the saw layer still snaps shut with a nice sound.  The other layers need some cleaning, but I want to be careful because of the old scales.  None of the tools are broken which I think is amazing.  Take a look at the size of that nail nick on the main blade.

When I find an old knife like yours, I send it in a small workshop near the Swiss border, there is a craftsman who fully dismounts it, exchange broken parts, put new handles, etc.
At the end, the knife is like a new one with genine parts or redo parts as guenine.

For example, he repaired me an old Victorinox 234k model  (1942's) and he gaves me all photos step by step (here only 3 photos, just to see what he's able to do) :
