Any way we can add that EKA-handled Minathor to the page?

I think we'd need to find a new image of it since that one is watermarked.  Also it looks like it is  not really part of the Wood Collection (but it could be because of the handle design), it could be another EKA collaboration.   The page could certainly contain a reference to it like the EM-1.

It is one fantastic knife.  Have to be a Top Wenger model for sure.  The Minathor is already at the top in my books.

(Another batch for the Wenger Series in the wiki)

The Europa or Europe series is one of Wenger's Star line of premium knives. The set consists of four knives with blue handles which are decorated with a circle of twelve gold stars, representing the countries of the European Union. Three of the handles are plastic, and one is anodized aluminum.

The different knives don't have names, but are designated only by their numbers.

1 92 15 - Esquire with blue plastic handles

1 92 13 - Commander with blue plastic handles

1 92 14 - Traveler with blue plastic handle and short key chain

1 92 16 - Traveler with blue alox handles

In addition to the Wenger Europas, Victorinox produced at least two European Union knives, shown in photo 3.  They are a Spartan and a Huntsman. Their numbers are not currently known.

(Not sure the last part should go in the Wenger section, but threw it in for general info)

Here's a photo of the Wenger Nature Series. It's listed in the wiki under 'Others - VIP'. 75mm long. Might want to add it to the Wenger sets; definitely need a photo. One source I have says stainless steel handles; the other says pewter. Not sure if they're cast or stamped. Anyone else have any info?

1.83.49 Wenger AN: Metal scales, straight ribbing.
1.83.50 Wenger AN: Nature Series; Metal scales, straight ribbing with Snow Leopard on bottom scale.
1.83.51 Wenger AN: Nature Series; Metal scales, straight ribbing with Eurasian Otter on bottom scale.
1.83.52 Wenger AN: Nature Series; Metal scales, straight ribbing with Polar Bear on bottom scale.

I can't find it now, but I first saw this knife for sale on ebay.de few months ago.
So I started researching and found the topic I linked.

I love this joke :

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=First+Mage+Hogwarts

Could you add photo of this knife ?

I hear it's hard to take a picture of it due to it's magical properties. ;) The author hasn't been online in years and the pictures he uploaded are no longer on that server. If you find one feel free to post it in the latest SAK thread. I don't think it's a Wenger though, more a Victorinox limited edition being 93mm and having a pruner blade. Wonder if you can chose the wand materials too, or if the First Mage chooses you?

:D

I found a photo but it's one of possible magical configuration !

Very nice Europe and Nature series. I'll add both of those to my Wiki To Do list

BTW if anyone is after the Europe Commander one, I see one on eBay.de, new with box, papers and worldwide shipping.  Some bidding but bad naming so it might go low.

I found that auction  right after you mentioned it was an ebay item.  I'm sorry I missed it.  I would have bid  a lot more for it.

I was mistaking about the water marks those were on the regular Minathor images (Oasis I think) that I saw when I followed your original like and then some further link.  Someone might be able to contact the ebay seller of that knife and as if we can use those pictures.

The nice thing is I have a new Special Wenger to watch for, I might die before I find it, but it's good to have something to look for.

It seems the seller is German and I don't speak German...

ATTENTION!
I just realized it now.
The above ebay auction was for a Blancpain Minathor with standard Evowood scales, not the EKA version.
This is probably why I didn't bid, because after researching I found images of the EKA version.
So there were at least two versions of the BlancPain Minathor:
1) EvoWood;
2) EKA.
So, Francis and Jean Claude, I wouldn't be too sorry about missing the auction.

Well, that's it for me!!

I made my last Wenger purchase 10 mins ago - now just need to work out how the hell I'm gonna pay the bill when it pops through the letterbox next month

BUT... I'll take comfort knowing I own a serious slice of Swiss history  :sak:

 :drink:

ahh.  :ahhh :ahhh

Just received the email stating my order is no longer available

Who knows, maybe one day online retailers will update their stock levels

And, to make matters worse, out of the total number of items I'd ordered, it just had to be the one item that drew me to their site in the first instance.

Yeah, I'm too beginning to think this selling strategy is done on purpose
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I Love it Too!!      I think they did a fantasic job on this set, I'm very impressed.  I also think it's a very fair price, I'm impressed also that they kept the price as low as they did for this special set.

A more recent addition to the Wenger Left-Handed series:

EVO 14 Left-Handed , # 1.14.109.300

Great looking shot of the United Woods set!  :tu:

Nice purchase, congratulations North Man!
I don't see how Wenger could charge more for the set.
It may be "fair" considering the number of knives included, but the price is not really "cheap".
I think there is a price point after which collectors simply would not buy, no matter how many knives are included.

Best 2013 deal for me.....€28,10 + shipment  :D
Ok shipping was €17, but still pretty cheap.
Only the micro tools show minimal wear.
It was basically a combination of: bad wording/description + bad images +  seller didn't know what he had.
Sometimes you get lucky, but unfortunately it happens only few times a year.

A couple of pieces of Wenger clean-up data:

Under the Skier, the version without the metal file has a number of 1.34.03. Names I have for it include: Mountain/Ski, Mountain, and Skiloper (from the 1980s Norwegian catalog).

Under Survivor, there's a version that has a small nailfile in place of the small clip blade. It has a number of 1.68.02.
