Thanks, I registered back in 2006, but never posted.  It took spreading reputation of Syph007, to draw me back.

It feels like I have a million things going on, but Im trying to make progress on all fronts at least.  I've been wanting to do a BO run for ages to see how that goes and I finally finished prepping all the parts for a test run.

Here's the before shot, hopefully the after one turns out. :D

Here's a very different one from my typical jobs.  It was a request by a user with the use of only one hand.  He wanted a one hand opener but just the electrician blade and nothing else.

This uses my custom spring for a type of solo electrician.  The blade was straightened out as normally they are bent to fit with the cap lifter.  I also rounded out the hump on the pivot on one side to require less force to start the opening process since the blade is shorter and there is less leverage.  I also peened this one.  Crazy I know...  :D   The customer wanted it so I obliged.

My cat and I took some video to show the action. (He was just taunting the neighbours dogs which is why they were barking)

Cheers

Do you ever follow up this design with further models? It seems very cool and useful.  A pioneer with oho main blade would be most interesting!

No one else has ever asked for anything similar yet.  This method would really only work on single layer mods though as this thumb stud was large.

I haven't done too many single layer mods really, but here is a new one by request.  93mm bantam with pocket clip.

Could the stud only be on one side?  If not, oho 93mm bantam would be cool too!

Actually a 93mm Bantam, or Chicken as I call it, is a quite handy piece of gear.

It just about disappears in your pocket like a solo but has the advantage of the combo tool.
I just love that 93mm blade, tough as nails.

If you'd want a multiple layer one, I guess you'll have to do something weird with the order of layers, too, as the blade is actually positioned on the left side of the knife, right?

I busted out some more green today.

It actually feels like summer finally here, so Im back to outdoor photoshoots now.  Natural lighting is much kinder for photography than indoor fluorescent.

Here is something Ive wanted to try for awhile and someone had requested it, so I got to build a farmer, but replace the saw layer with a serrated blade from a 91mm spartan.

There was room so I also added a small spear point opposite.  Love how it turned out, but getting the spring just right was a total pain.  I ended up grinding down one of the scissors springs I made to get it all to fit just right.

Love how it turned out though.  :D

You know I think it would be possible to put both large knives in one layer, with a thicker than normal spring... that and scissors added I think would be just right for me.  The nice thing about building SAKs for others is I get to try alot of combinations and see what I like best for my own builds.
