I foolishly gave away my PS1 and all the crash games so was very pleased with the rerelease, mostly play crash team racing currently.
I don’t edc the champ but it’s a great tool for home or car, my SAK collection wouldn’t have felt anywhere near complete (not that that day will ever arrive!) without one

Crash team racing is awesome too. Classic ...You could try getting a PS1 emulator on your PC and download all you old games.

Yeah, I agree. Every SAK collection should include a Champ.

Can I join the club?
I bought this one in 1990 on my way to Desert Storm. It replaced the champ I bought right after basic training in 1987 because, well you gotta have pliers in the desert!
Now the old girl goes out on every salmon fishing trip with me because, well you gotta have pliers on the boat!

Welcome to the club Jackpine54  :hatsoff:

That's a great looking Swiss Champ you have there - we're running a "Go Big" challenge starting 1 August that you are welcome to join (and gain a badge if you succeed) - rules are listed in the thread: https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,87587.0.html

Thanks, I'll check it out! Not that I need any encouragement to carry a swisschamp.

I love a knife with history!  I carried a Huntsman while I was in, and never wanted for anything.  I would have loved to had a Swisschamp in those days!  :D  Welcome aboard!

Thanks! It's great to be here! I've always wanted a SwissChamp, from the first moment that I became aware of them as a kid.

I will! Thanks for the welcome.

I've been carrying my new SwissChamp for a day now, and I've already discovered one thing that I wish I could change: the location of the nail nick on the main blade. I had just trimmed my fingernails before the SwissChamp arrived, and I'm finding it very difficult to "pinch" the main blade in order to open it. I'm not used to reaching across seven layers of tools to get my thumbnail into the nail nick.

Are there any tricks to opening the blade, besides keeping a longer thumbnail? Right now I'm having to use my middle finger to get enough purchase on the blade.

I wouldn't call it a trick, but I've found that some tools are easier to open with my left thumb and some are easier with my right thumb. Maybe try the other thumb?

Saw a movie this weekend, "Company Business", Gene Hackman as a CIA operative. What was interesting about the movie to me was that it opened with him using a swiss champ and the SAK appeared multiple times throughout the movie. Also was the first time in a movie I have seen somebody besides MacGyver use the ink pen to sign something. Not a bad movie, curious if any of you guys have seen it.

I discovered another use for the fish scaler: scratching a mosquito bite through my jeans.
