What is in this Drawer?
on: April 15, 2013, 04:05:41 AM

Let's see what lurks in this little drawer. If you guess plenty of little odds and ends, you would be right. :)

First off, a True Utility key tool.

There is a lot of Swiss Tech stuff in here...like this  light/bottle opener keychain.

A small whistle.

This Swiss Tech monstrosity that lights up like a Christmas tree from both ends.

And this Swiss Tech tool that  is shaped much like the one above.

Another interesting Swiss Tech keychain thingamajig.

Even more Swiss Tech silliness.

Two pocket driver sets...at least these aren't Swiss Tech.

3 very low tech pocket tool sets.

A set of Raker Ring Tools from a past MT.O event.

A set of Swiss Tech key flashlight/USB drive and mini pier sets.

Yet another Swiss Tech pocket keychain multi-tool.

Assorted bits and odd ends all related to keychain carry.

Tech light with ball point pen, small driver, and the usual light.

And an assortment of keychain multi-tools.

And this is what the drawer looks like with all that stuff in it.

A little Leatherman information.

I love looking at bits of your magnificent collection  :tu:

(trying very hard to stay away from any jokes about "what lurks in your drawers", but failing in this instance - and yes, I know it is supposed to be a family friendly forum, but sometimes temptation just overwhelms me  :pok:  )

As I have a particular fondness for keychain stuff, I think this is a nice review.

I like some of the ideas Swiss Tech has, but the one I have really failed in implementation. The IDL stuff looks much better. I also really like the look of the little Swiss Tech keychain light, but I priced one of these the other day and no way am I dropping $5 for one when a fauxton is 32 cents.

I'm a little surprised that I don't see a Screwpop in with the rest of these. Or did I just miss it?

Nice Chaco. You must be having one of the most rich collections around here.

There is a store in Athens with some of the Swiss Tech products. Since I have many good tools for EDC I never considered one, except that key holder, top left in the picture. I think it doesn't consume space and it might be useful. Is it any good?

gregozedobe, I see your point.  ;)

Lynn LeFey, no you didn't see one simply because I do not have one.

stealth007s, Thanks. The Serber tools are a lot nicer than the Swiss+Tech stuff.

kkokkolis, possibly, possibly not. I do know I don't mind sharing photos of it. As for your question, it is not a bad keychain addition. In fact, I like the Utili-Key 6 in 1. It resembles a key and most people won't even know what it is hidden amongst all your other keys.

Def, that is correct.  :)

I have the smaller of the two pocket driver sets and I really like it.  I got mine from Lee Valley/Veritas a while back.  Unfortunately, they were all sold out of the larger one by the time I happened upon them.  Does anybody know where to get the larger driver set pictured?

I carry a utili-key which IMO is Swiss+Tech's best multitool.

Chako, if I ever make it up to Canada, you're gonna have to lend me some floor space to sleep over a few days and play around with your collection.  Now that I think about it, that would be kinda a dream vacation  :D

I've started to buy multiples of some tools so I have spares as trade-bait, but even then I seem to want to hang onto the spares as well - it's a disease I tell you !   :gimme:  :gimme:  :gimme:  ;)
