What's the strange, small, hook just past the scissors tip in the first photo? Looks to be in the same layer. The opened knife doesn't seem to show anything like that hook.

lightning strike carbon fiber.

Slow, slow progress but the scales are finally sanded and polished and ready to send to the anodizer (who will slip them into the next run of black for a very reasonable sum):Slots for toothpick and tweezers:
Nice. You'll still need to use liner though so the T&T don't fall out. I'd try to make the T&T grooves ride on the same scale, like on the Plus scales, just not pen and tooothpick but toothpick and tweezers. That way you'd only need the liner on one side.
It was far easier to work than I thought. I will be ordering some thinner carbon fiber for 91mm mods next.

I milled down the scales to make them thinner, planning to use them without liners, then didn't like the way the corkscrew extended a long way past the scale. So I put the liners back in and decided to cut the grooves for T+T. What I should have done is make the shield side scale thin (2mm or so) and used no liner and then tried to get the T+T into the corkscrew side, with a liner. Every day is a school day.
4 slots, you forgot the pin. ;-)
