Thanks for the quick reply mate. :)  I guess smaller is what I'm after.  I've got what I think is a little Mora 120, but that really is very much only for carving as it's too tiny for much else.  I'll be perfectly honest and say that I really don't have any real justification for another Mora, but this little No.2/0 has taken my fancy.

Ok, I think John's pic might have just sealed the deal. :D  Neat and compact I'd say, but not so speSmurfpillsed as the 120.  Cheers buddy. :salute:

I have a no2 and a laminated no2.
They are pretty small. Great for carving and crafts. Im not a huge fan of the sheaths though.

Sent from a device made from star dust using tapatalk

They are small but great craft and kit knives...used to keep one in my leather working kit.

To see the size difference, here is the #2, the #1, the discontinued 1.0 and the 2.0 at the bottom.

Here is my reg and Lam. 2.0's

Here is the 1.0 which is a nice size but they are very very hard to find. IIRC, they had a 3 inch blade.

Sometimes that size pops up unexpectedly...IIRC, this Scout (top) was a 1.0 size so you might look at the Scout issues if you're going to hunt one.

Great pic! Love the Morgan for scale. Man, that 1/0....  *sigh*
I've been looking at getting a stainless companion, as only 1/5 of my moras are stainless, and they offer a bit more utility for food prep. But then I get to looking at the 749 and 748... Or the wood handled guys... Or, or...  :ahhh

I got one of the moraknife companion on amazon deal for like $11.60, arrived today really, really sharp, very impressed. got the blue one was cheapest, figured it would be hard to see sheath with jeans on but its very sky blueish or maybe baby blue, either way its really nice. probably get a black one as well if deal pops up again.

Nice Mora's.  I have been thinking about getting one but no idea which one.  I heard they are in the processed of actually making them full tang and not the rats tale design, however I dont know if that is a done deal now or just in the works or what models are of the full tang ones.  :)

Thats news to me. Since the new ones are also rat tail tang, I guess it will only be certain models if it will happen.

And you really should get one. ;)

Never.  Reading about this on the net has people driving them into trees and then standing on them...I think the guy said he weighed 165lbs. Those were older stories, probably from when they were laminated and full length tangs on the classic models like these.

You will see a broken one posted every great once in a while, but the new synthetic handle ones have better tangs and are amazingly strong from everything I've read...

I've broken a few by looking at them sideways. I wouldn't hack, baton, drive them into trees etc at all. YMMV.

Nope, not once.  I'm happy to baton with them myself, though I'm always selective about the size and quality of wood I'll tackle with any knife.

I've no problem with Mora coming out with a full tang knife as I'm sure it would be popular with many.  However you've got to remember that full tangs gave their drawbacks as well, they will be more expensive I'd guess, they transmit more shock to hand and also the cold.

Just looking through the catalogue and was reminded that they've made the "Lapplander 95" for years.  Isn't that a full tang?

Now that's interesting.  Given that it looks to be fully enclosed then it rather knocks two of my potential issues off.  Now we just need to know how much it'll cost. :D
