C'mon,

Who actually pays full MSRP for anything?  likely it'll go regularly for $80-100, which is still high, but if it has a nice watch, I would go the $150-200 for that.

I think you've been left out to dry buddy!

The timepiece itself I actually think is pretty sharp looking(not in the blade sense). The band, I'm not sure I'm sold on. It's gimmicky, and priced a bit too high to be gimmicky. Like Whippy said, the value sort of rests on whether or not the watch itself is good quality

If you can integrate this with a smart-watch, I’m in. Apple is making a lot of different bands for their watch. If they work with Leatherman or some third party makes an adapter or there is a simple hack that allows you to use any of the slew of smart-watches that are coming, I would wear one. It looks uncomfortable in the photos but I guess it depends on how it's finished.

Seriously Leatherman, $200 for a "dork-celet" ?!

I'd have to agree. *WOW*.  This thing can be seen from space - or on the ground from miles away.  Wouldn't you have to just be so into anything LM does with blinders on to think this was something sane people would actually put on their wrist?  I realize it's a wearable set of tools, but then...since it's wearable...doesn't just a wee bit of taste play into the whole thing?!  I see someone like Chuck Norris wearing this.  Then, if one were to add more tools - it could be worn on the bicep!  :D  Why not a belt?  The ridicule factor is crazy...combined with the total lack of practicality - no?

Whew; this is a train wreck.  I understand the appeal of the industrial aspect, but no - no.  I wouldn't buy it at $50.  So, $150 & $200 is just unfathomable.

In terms of new products, I can maybe see the new Signal - maybe.  However, this is something that clearly has missed some objective, critical thinking.  It screams 'Monster House Dude-Bro'.  Eh, no thanks.  Someone said steampunk too, which seems somewhat accurate.

Yikes!!  What a shame.   :P  Still, cheers [because it will save me money!].

I like the watch.

Even if I don't use the band tools, I still think it looks cool.

I don't "must" have one, but if one is to collect, one must do it properly. Thankfully, it is only with Leatherman do I attempt to collect at least one of everything.

I must admit however, not sure where Leatherman is recently going with their products. I think it is safe to assume that Tim is only a figure head these days and doesn't participate much in product development. If that is the case, not good for Leatherman I am thinking.

Seriously a smurfing sim pick?
Have to disagree there buddy. I have the LM Challenge coin, 25 years moneyclip, pins, various promotional stuff ect. but I don't consider myself
less of a collector refusing to throw my money at that "thing"..  ;)

Really Leatherman, REALLY..?!?

And what about those of us with thin wrists.  So we remove 2 or 3 links to make it fit snug and lose half the tools.

Haha, good point mate.  :)

And if you're keen on adding the watch head...that's another 2 links gone...so all in all you lose half a tool load - what a joke!

So, you're going to order two Al?  :D

Seeing as they're adustable, I was thinking elbows ankles and knees too  ::) If you're going to do something ridiculous, why not go the whole hog

Scratch that, I'm going to pass on the TREAD and bide my time waiting for the SKID ...

... the underpants version  ::)

I think the only place for this is round the neck of something you want to drown, then you can kill two birds with one stone and leave this at the bottom of a lake too.

As I have said elsewhere:

The watch/bracelet thing just doesn't look practical to me at all. You're going to need so much clearance round anything to use it and the guy in the video listed a load of things he wanted to do with a knife in Disneyland that I can't see being practical to do with the Tread. There's also going to be a huge amount of torsion put on all the links.

Quote
That just looks horrendous.
The amount of space you're going to need round a screw is ridiculous and you're not going to be able to get any force on it anyway.

I wonder how you adjust the strap? "Ah yes, I have a screwdriver for that on my watch! Let me just get it out... oh wait, I've got small wrists so I had to leave the PH2 link at home. Sorry."

No pliers, or wire cutters. Couldn't Leatherman sneak spring-loaded pliers in-place of the watch? The leverage arms could swivel out and have a button lock.

Did not even see a short blade or Ulu-like blade. Guess one could whittle down another flat blade to fabricate a cutting edge for a wire snip or pressure cutter. Use the strap cutter as a 'few threads by few threads' cutter.

It's cute. If had a molten titanium-looking 'coating' would be more steam punkish.

Could see there would be a problem of you only had one arm. :pok: Could get a closure and make a second wrist band, or hey, ankle bands! /ouch

I tell my 2 cents. Immediatly when i saw it i thought: My God what is it? Of course no one will consider it as a tool. Is absolutely silly to imagine somebody using it For screwing bolt or whatever .......then i started to consider it as something original and fashionable. And it is!! I think all mates there in Leatherman know perfectly where they are going.....its something that celebrate everhthing what is made in leatherman and its fashionable! If all you guys start to consider it as cool and not usable, i'm sure you will see it in different way.

So the guy is supposedly on an outdoor adventure or hiking/trekking/camping trip...and he carries a bracelet with 20+ screwdrivers and box wrenches for the situations in need?

Leatherman, this is beyond silly...do try again.

$500-600 for the watch?  I would need to know who the ACTUAL maker is.  That's getting into serious watch money range.  :-\

There's just so much wrong with this...
I'll be honest, I like Leatherman and their tools. When people say "multitool" in my presence, Leatherman is the first thing that comes to mind. But this... I'd have to get paid, to wear this thing. And 600$ for the watch-version?! At that price, the damn thing should be able to jump off my wrist and repair my bike, all on its own.
And then there's the security-issue. How long would it take before this so-called multitool gets caught on your pocket, your shirt, your girlfriends earrings/necklace etc? With all those implements, it seems like a death-hazard to me.

I don't know if SHOT is still going, but if it is, and some of you are in contact with someone who's there, try and ask them how many of the people at the LM-booth is actually wearing this bracelet. My guess is, no more than one.
There's absolutely no way, that I'd prefer this thing, over my paracord-bracelet and watch. Two wrists, two items - sorry Leatherman, got no room for you sillyness.
