I recently bought a legend - Ontario Rat 1. Have to say that it is great knife to handle and operate with. Little bit large to carry to office but for garden and forest it works perfectly.

Neat piece.  Are you planning to do additional clean up on it, or leave it as is?

Thanks !

I cleaned the inside of the liners and backspring and washed the stag with some mild soap. Sharpen and oil the joints and leave the patina as is.

:woohoo:  Nice find.

Thanks. I see them out there pretty frequently, but this was the first one I've found at fleamarket pricing. I am enjoying it very much!

Thanks😁

I luv the Walnut, so a No8

Needed a 8 in beech for my fork/spoon kit.

And a No6 in beech just because.

I do enjoy employing the size No8 in the kitchen for the little slicing and dicing I do!🙂

Can't hardly beat a Opinel in the kitchen for prep.  I once went to a dinner party and only had my SAK and #6 Opinel on me.  As per usually I was asked to help in the kitchen chopping up some foods.  I take out my Opinel and the hostess said, I have a knife.  No thanks this will do.  After her husband saw what a simple Opinel could do he wanted one as well.  Not sure if he ever got one?

My two latest acquisitions aren't as nice as other ones on here but they've really grown on me now that I cleaned them up a bit.  One's an Imperial Matterhorn and the other one is a Colonial.  They're still pretty beat up and the Colonial is missing a small blade or other small tool but I'm really liking the patina on the metal.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Those oldies did patina a nice dark color didn't they?  Those old warhorses likely have a lot of miles left on them.  I bet they'd both sharpen up to razor sharp too.  I very much enjoyed picking up these old knives and cleaning, researching, and passing them on unless they really grew on me during the process.

Nice finds.
