My sister-in-law gave me a gift card for Christmas, knowing that I like knives, and I ordered a CRKT Squid.  It showed up on the hood of my car this morning.

The blade is 9,9 cm so not too big. Large, but not oversized methinks.
Name is a mouthfull though:

I got an Elementum after all the hype,  I must say, I am impressed.  It makes for a reasonable Camp knife when you want something that locks

I'm pretty impressed with the Elementum too. Light and solid. Quality at nice price point (when one dismisses the Dessert Warrior premium that is).

I hadled my brother's Elementum and was impressed. But one of the reasons I'm buying SAKs and MTs is to stop blowing all my money on pretty kniveses...

I love these :

Me too! Too bad autos are out of reach in most of Europe. Whenever I visit Czechia or Austria, or even France, I envy their lax laws. Last time in Vienna I scored a Microtech and some cheapos just because I could. They make nice gifts to brothers and nephews.

That Infidel cost me 525€, that's quite expensive for a knife I can own but not carry (French Law allows purchase and ownership of knives, but not carry without "proper reason" => which is never proper enough for an OTF, and depends on the "context" for more casual knives)

:o wow! That's a lot of moolah. But then again, quality cutlery is always worth it. The act of owning something like that is ... I dunno, transcendent

The "proper reason" clause is not wholly unreasonable, but "because I may need it" IS a proper reason. As long as it stays in your pocket, it shouldn't be anyone else's concern. I just think it's an insult that an honest taxpayer becomes a criminal if the Police disagree with that.

Hello guys!

I got this brand new from the store, at a very low price. Did some research on it and concluded that for the price, it could receive the task of cutting tape on boxes. Compared to what it wants to be (a high quality brother of a non-existent model of Victorinox SAK), it has it's shortcomings but nevertheless, it is okey for bashing in cardboard and tape.

It has blue plastic scales, no scale tools and no key ring. Would have been nice with textured nylon scales, but that is another model, with the vendor dint have in it's offer. Also, the scales are heat rivetted to the liner, so they are not interchangeable with VX ones.

Manufacturer: MIKOV
Model: 100-NH-1A
Frame Length: 91mm
Price: 34 RON / €6.83 / $7.43 (at the day of writing this)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I will do an in depth comparison with similar Victorinox SAK, keeping in mind that it descends from the 91mm line of folding knives of Victorinox.

I had forgotten about Mikov knives.  I always intended to try one for myself but never did.  Good looking knife for the money.  :tu:

Good pick!
Be warned, it will not be VX quality, but it's fairly good. A whole magnitude better than cheap chineese wannabe clones!

For the money (less than £10 including post) as long is it's not junk it will be worth it.

Mon Dieu, encore un Microtech! Congrats! How much was it, or does it hurt too much to talk about? When I lived in Paris (2009-2013) I shopped at an army store off Bd Voltaire, I think they've closed since. Got some knives, OC and collapsing batons just for the pleasure of being able to   :P

But you don't know the model yet , do you?

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Bd Voltaire there was Eurosurplus, but yeah, apparently they are closed

That's right, you had the Benchmade. No idea what the model is, I want one

Eurosurplus, yeah that was it. I had some great time in Paris, living in 16eme, Passy to be precise. I took my kids to school near the hospital where Sarkozy's wife was giving birth. There was also an embassy bombing on the same street. Never a dull moment in the City of Light... I bought a ton of Laguioles but gave them all away as gifts  :(
