I probably overpaid for it, but I was stoked to finally snag one of these, even in used condition.  It shows some wear, but everything is still tight and solid, and it will most likely outlast me.

The only thing I don’t understand is why these were limited editions and aren’t in regular production.

Straight in the pocket.

Whatever a great score Nate. One of my favorite ZT knives.  :like: :like: :like:

Cold Steel Slock Master

I’m hoping this will make a good camp knife for food prep.  I’d been on the hunt for something with:
- Large blade - At 6.5”, it’s shorter than most chef’s knives (typically 8-10”), but I’m thinking it could handle just about anything (probably even a watermelon in a pinch).
- Impervious to moisture - I’d like to at least have the option to wash the whole thing with soap and water without worrying about it.
- Useable sheath included - If it didn’t have this, its utility as a camp knife would be somewhat more limited.  And if I had to buy a knife and sheath separately, there may be a risk of not fitting well.  Moreover, the total cost would probably be higher…
- Inexpensive - I wanted something I wouldn’t hesitate to loan/hand to someone else, and could easily replace if lost or damaged.  The $30 price tag works for me.

Bonuses:
- Red handle should make it harder to lose.
- At only 7.4 ounces with sheath, it’s not terribly heavy for a blade of its size.

The only thing I’m not sure about is the handle.  While it is large, comfortable, and provides a secure grip even when wet, I’ll be curious to see how durable the rubbery Kray-Ex proves over time.

Looks like it would do well as a camp kitchen knife.     :like: :tu:

Wow PN, congrats on the new knife. I looked up the spec on that knife and it said the blade was 5 and a quarter inches. Great candidate for the Giants of June Challenge.

The Recon 1 XL is one of my favorites.  I removed the blade coating on my first one, then bought another when I learned that they were being discontinued.  Then I bought this one when they were re-released.  Cold Steel has always known how to take my money.

Darligton Edgecraft Sugar.
I’ve really come to like small fixies, so I took a chance on a new small maker.  Time will only tell durability, but I’m liking it.
