Yes, Böker, made in Germany. The inlaind metal stamp on them contains the tree symbol with "Solingen" underneath. "Böker" and the tree symbol appears also stamped on the blade tangs. I think they are still in production, current models. As I said, nothing special other than personally I like them. There are some more expensive variants of this model in MOP, Micarta, Tuya wood, with Damascus style steel, even was a limited series with petrified dinosaur bone handles (or at least claimed to be this). Yes, they do not are slipjoints in the true  Solo:

Quite right! To be sincere before seeing your photo with the blue SA one I did not intend to have a blue Solo. Now I have one on my desk and another on its way. I will post some photos when I will have them both.

what's in my pocket today.  A Bear and Son stag handled mini trapper and a Case camper knife in the typical brown delrin but with a nice patina on the main blade.

My latest slippies.  The two orange Micarta ones are Case, the Stockman's main blade is marked "first production run".  That didn't stop it from seeing a lot of use today at the store.  :)  The other two mini toothpicks are Rough Riders, one in red bone, the other in Midnight Swirl.  Despite their tiny size, I like the toothpick pattern.  Seems like it would be a great sheeple friendly penknife.

A couple humble slipjoints from China. I've been carrying one or the other for a few months now. Some very odd features, such as the paintjob, but solid performers. I think they may be intended for the Chinese domestic market, as the aesthetics look petty alien to these American eyes. Construction is crude and weird, but functional. They can be had via mail order from HK very inexpensively. Best of all, they suit me quite well. They pocket very easily, have thin blades, take and hold a decent edge.

I have a hankering for the GITD version of that - not a huge fan of orange, but stuff that glows always gets my attention :D

I ordered the orange one before I realised they had a "glow" version too; just saw it and went for it.
They are the same price, so they are not trying to cheat people by charging more, like some Swiss makers may do...

I am actualy really happy with the colour, but I have been looking at some Stayglow SAKs lately, hoping to find a cheap one.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ablett was the tougher of these two to open.  I've got a couple of Ablett knives and they're both something you have to put a fair amount of effort into opening; you also need to concentrate on the job or you'll notice the consequences.

I can't remember how hard it was to open as I took that picture a year or two ago, what I do remember is it was the hardest blade I have ever used my 'Lansky system' on as I sharpened it for him  :salute:

Probably not too bad, as the oligodynamic effect of non-stainless steels will help (somewhat). Pits in the steel and the fact that it is a folder, on the other hand... :)
