Day 22

GEC #53 Equal End Cigar / White Owl / Moose / Furtaker Muskrat. (I don't know what differentiates these names, which seem to be used interchangeably, and I can't find the tube mine came in to verify. Suffice to say, it's a #53 and the full model number is 531212.) My only other GEC, I believe this one is ebony wood. The clip blade on this one was impossible to open for a while, but over the last couple years it seems to have gotten better. Now both blades are strong, but not too difficult.

Great stuff guys!

Carrying my Uncle Henry 885UH King Ranch Stockman today.  (crummy pic) :(

:like: UH's are some nice looking knives.  Shame my only one is a China made Taylor, which is the smaller 835UH.

Thanks Cody! Wished I had taken a better picture...it's a nice looking knife. My Dad would carry his Uncle Henry to church or when dressed up...his Old Timer 8OT was on duty the rest of the time.

Day off today, so just a Buck tiny Trapper. The wood on this is lovely. :)

Several times in this thread I've looked up knives, just because.
All I could find on yours is the name 381 Trapper, maybe sold in a christmas tin along with a 327 Nobleman.
Made with burlwood but couldn't find what knid of wood.
Yours was made in 2015.

Thanks! :tu: It being sold in a set explains why I couldn't find any info on the 381 as a stand-alone model.....

Traditional Challenge, Day 23

#64 Queen Canoe w/D2 blades & amber jigged bone scales

Several years ago I went about searching ebay for a good user in a canoe pattern.  This is what I came up with.  I guess no one wanted a Queen with "Sharp Fans" etch and tang stamps, so I basically "stole" this one.  As far as I can tell, "Sharp Fans" was a Yahoo group that is now defunct.  IMO, they commissioned a pretty knife in 2008.  ;)

Steve, I love a jack pattern, and this one is a fine example!  Is it Delrin?  Case did such a fine job with jigged Delrin in the 70's that it's sometimes hard to tell.  In the later 70's, you can identify a Delrin knife vs. a bone-handled one by the oval in the shield.  The oval was absent on the Delrin ones.  It appears this is an '82?  It looks like the 80's tang stamp with 8 dots from your previous picture.

That's a treacherous hole, and an easy one to fall into.  ;)

I have to force myself to not look at them.  "Case is pretty good stuff for the money", I tell myself.  Luckily, I put together a modest collection of traditionals 5-6 years ago, and don't feel the "need" as much anymore.  This thread has only cost me 1 Case so far.
