Looks like a Buck 110 style lockback. You should be able to get some use out of it, that style is time tested and and if constructed well should last you. I would almost keep it as an heirloom if you have children. There are some knives I have that are nice I'll pass down to my kids that are not users.
Bear is a good name, but their QC can be a bit hit or miss; I do greatly like their multitools, though.
