I am not sure I am loving the new direction Cold Steel is taking, are they trying to be spyderco and benchamde?
I like CS folders because their unique style and size like no other brands can offer.

Agree. And Frenzy and Immortal (my two picks for 2017) are out of my price range, for sure.
I don't think I'll be getting anytime soon, and add to that the fact that I'm still in my honeymoon period with the small guy of the CS collection   :D

Thanks for posting that, I'm digging the Tuff Lite colors! The Pro Lite looks cool too. I don't know much about 4116 steel though.

Saw a lot that I liked, but one knife stands out, the Khan.  Sorry, I can't link to it, but have a look.
What gets my about this knife is the price, and the fact they list CPM S35VN as the blade steel........I would expect AUS8 at that price!  :think:

I am color blind when comes to gear, I will only use black or sliver items, no exception. 
That is one of the reasons I liked CS.

Well......the reason I was on the CS site is there's a 6" Zytel Ti-lite on sale that I could get my hands on, wanted to check the specs.  Then I saw the new all black Ti-Lite with upgraded steel (coated black) and G10 handle.........forgot all about colours for a moment as well!  :rofl:

I missed that one, it's very cool! I wonder what those opening holes are like, I'd have to see a video of one in action before I bought, but it looks promising especially for the price!

Those new ridged opening holes are certainly interesting. We will have to wait and see how they operate.

I have nothing against CS, I really like my Recon1, but I cannot see anything interesting in these new products. Nowadays knife must look good, but it seems CS can make nice looking blades only if they are extra large...

Overall, too colorful, too fancy, too small.

The low end ones are nice for those need them.

Saw a lot that I liked, but one knife stands out, the Khan.  Sorry, I can't link to it, but have a look.
What gets my about this knife is the price, and the fact they list CPM S35VN as the blade steel........I would expect AUS8 at that price!  :think:
I am sure 100% sure that is a typo, Khan has AUS8, not S35

Watched a YT video (Gideons Tactical) where he compared a new budget SOG and one of the new CS models with 4116 blade steel, apparently dulls very quickly.

I have a FinnBear, Canadian belt knife, Kudu and Eland with 4116 but I don't use any of them.......and I bought those knives despite the steel.....

Cold Steel has been doing stuff like that for years. TwistMaster (Opinel No. 8), Canadian Belt Knife (Grohmann #1), GI Tanto (Strider) etc. Some call it copying, others think of it as borrowing design aspects

I'd be more annoyed by all the designs CS has copied if they didn't have so many of their own as well.  If they made more copies and didn't have any decent designs of their own I wouldn't have a lot of respect for them.

I feel pretty similarly, to be honest. I dont know why, they keep doing it either, none of their "copycat" designs seem to last very long, or sell particularly well (except maybe the Kudu)
