on: August 02, 2017, 02:58:57 AM
Please, need help.

Getting pretty slammed here with life atm and finding it difficult to come up with good ideas re giveaways.

Would really appreciate hearing any new ideas or old favourites that you have.

Provide a picture containing all of the following items to be entered into a draw:

Your right hand, a knife, a flashlight and a receipt for a purchase under $20 or your local equivalent.

A GAW for the best new idea for a GAW.
Best Nontraditional use for a multi tool with photo.
Most unusual food eaten with a multi tool with photo.
Best geometric pattern created with multi tools in honor of the knife angel.
Most outrageous (not necessarily true) fix it story using a multi tool.
Best knife, multi tool combo picture.

Can you tell I like to brainstorm?

What I have enjoyed so far is the one where some of us lost sleep trying to be the one to post last or hit the mysterious number. That was crazy and fun!

Not sure if I want a repeat tho, depends on the prize I guess

But I do like the winner being selected totally randomly as it levels the playing field. But put a minimum number of posts first please

I also really like the random number post selector.  Post a comment add a picture and the winner is chosen at random.  I think that's the most fair way to win.

Longest fruit peel using a Multi tool knife.
Most unusual carving using a multi tool knife (recent)
Last item guessed contest.  Post a picture of something unusual in the jaws of your multi tool.   The last item not identified wins.  In case of tie random drawing of the remaining candidates, you can enter multiple times, but each entry must be with a different multi tool and unidentified object.

For multiple items the choose a card is a valid choice.
Post a topic specific pic can be entertaining but one has to be realistic (no chainsaw juggling on a elephant that is riding a tricycle)
Short story and anecdotal contests are fun as well but harder to pic a winner if it isn't random number generated

You could supply a pic and let us come up with captions for it. I think we had something like this before...

The battleship game is always popular but takes a lot of your time to administer.

Chuck a load of screws, bolts, nuts etc in a big jar and guess how many is in it.  Closest wins the gaw.

Next time you cut a tree up take a pic of the log pile and count them when you move them. Same rules as above.

Tent peg pile. I'm sorting out my camping gear at the mo, I'll chuck every tent peg I can find into a pile and photo them, then count them.
I'll send you the results to use in a draw with the same rules as above.

Photo challenge, post a pic of a face/word/number made up with mulits, saks or knives. Draw a winner with random.org

I'll think of more...

A Find Waldo kind of game.

Large pic with a tool somewhere hidden.

The first to locate it (by a battleship grid) and name the tool, wins that exact tool.

Whoever has the most worn down remains of what once was a great multi-tool? Documented by pictures. No idea how to decide who is worst, but clearly the winner would need a new one at least :)

Best Nontraditional use for a multi tool with photo.

I like that one - we might pick up some new tricks on the way :)

Trying to change the subject from photos to eating? :pok: Now where is my interrogation lamp? (It looks just like an office lamp).

Must it be lobster? How about a more general "cooking with multi-tools"?

Specific competitions are a lot less inclusive than the 'pick a number', but maybe to spice up the GAW, posting a pic of something that most people own, along with picking the number, makes it a bit different.

That sounds like a great idea, but the tool company would probably consider the references null because of a "kickback" or "incentive." They want references given of own free will and no chance of a reward.
