Here's a few of mine. I don't think there's many pics of mine kicking around on here

These are the ones that were either made in Sheffield, or made by someone from Sheffield (me)  :D

Middle pic, I made the two on the left pointing upwards  :D I did have a little assistance though. I went on a knife making course for 3 days in 2007, made the brass bolstered one and the sheath complete, and the blank for the other one. The guy treated it up and blacked it then posted it on to me, and I did the ropework at home  :)

@50ft-trad Is the Chris Caine Parang worth the money? It looks beautiful.

Worth every penny to me, but I might view it slightly differently with it being made in my home town  :) Having said that, I have used the knive very hard and it's a very impressive tool. I don't think I'd have paid that much for a knife from elsewhere, but it's a beastie and will probably outlast me.

The coating is fluorolon and it's not chipped anywhere no matter how much it's been batonned or how many logs I've hacked through. I wish the Warthog had the same coating to be honest.

I'd comfortably put it up against any other carbon steel knife from any other manufacturer. The quality at Scorpion Knives/Samuel Staniforths is significantly better than the rather agricultural offerings from John Newill/Jack Adams. I've actually been round the factory, met the owner, the works manager, and the guy that actually makes them.

Honestly, I've hardly used them  :-[ I can be quite ruthless with my fixed blade knives, and with these being 01 tool steel and prone to rust, they've never been into the great outdoors with me. I've used the blackened one a couple of times, and it has worked very well. It was a swine to sharpen too. It cam back to me straight from heat treat (both were hardened, tempered, then given a cryogenic quench for 18 hours), and had a 2mm flat spot for an edge. I had to sharpen this manually with nothing more than a Lansky system, some emery and a mousemat :dwts:

I'm struggling to think if I've ever used the palm wood scaled one  thankfully that got sharpened while I was still using the guys workshop, so that was MUCH easier.

I keep telling myself I need to use them more, but keep finding myself picking up a stainless knife instead

I know that feeling. Stainless is just so convenient! Thankfully my 50-100B is staying clean, I don't think the environment is too bad here. I think I've only got the moras in 1095, and I've had my 511 rust. All uncoated carbon steel has a patina now though, so they're good to go.

I just love the thought of carbon steel I guess. Maybe the way out looks different with use? I know my sandvik Mora will always appear as it does now, which honestly seems kinda boring.

Wow! 2mm flat! And with about my level of sharpening equipment? I'd have likely sent it with my dad to his job for some belt sanding! That's something. Use it! Why bother putting an edge on if it wasn't to be used!  :D

Are those the factory micarta? Man I love the look of the laser etch with the new coating. It looks so advanced. The micarta completes it perfectly  :tu:

:D Yeah, I ought to. Even if it's just use at home. I'll probably still chuck a stainless knife in a backpack for outdoorsy stuff though .... not that I get round to doing much of that these days  :-\

Yes, SG they are the factory micrata. Just got them yesterday. I do like the way the BK7 looks with the micrata. They are thicker arent they? They're trying to crowd my hand in a spot or two. May have to get the sand paper out and reshape them a bit here and there. I'll give it time and see if I adjust to them. I'm glad i didnt order the kydex sheath I was wanting yet as the new handles will not work in a kydex sheath made with the regular handles.      :D

Yes they are thicker and on the 5,they shift the balance of the knife, settles in the hand better. I really like them but oddly enough, the factory ones on the 15 seem just right...probably won't replace those. I think the micarta grips are worth the money!  :tu:

Perhaps because the tweeners have solid scales vs skeletonized big beckers?
